Chaplain, it's a Bristol Britannia. Canadair made a freighter version the CL-44 that had a hinged aft fuselage for cargo loading. Flying Tigers operated this type of aircraft out of LAX back in the 1960s.
10-4 I'm going to head on over to my NAPA shop in the morning. I don't need it for the Deuce but I got a friend with a 56 Studebaker Champion that has a steering box with a slow leak.
Mike, I agree if it looks good leave it alone. But I always hope for the best, and prepare for the worst. It looks like the wife may have several days off around the 18th of this month. So if you don't have everything put back together by then maybe I can lend a hand....I'm good at using a broom. 🧹
www.dieselrebuildkits.com/shop/shop-by-engine/detroit-diesel/detroit-diesel-92-series/engine-in-frame-overhaul-rebuild-kit-detroit-diesel-8v92/ Mike, this is an in frame rebuild kit for the 8V92 Detroit-Diesel. You might take a look.
Interesting sounds easy enough. Mike this way you can get a look at your rod bearings, pistons and sleeves and while your at it you can drop a main cap and look at your main bearings. Mike you only want to do this once, so look at it all now. Hopefully your crank journals are A/OK.
It figures, semi's, large pleasure craft, and emergency vehicles haven't been able to use the 2 stroke Detroit's for over 20 years now due to emissions standards. Funny, EMD Locomotives still use large versions of Detroit 2 cycle diesels and meet Tier 4 emissions.....anyways.
Johan77 here is a picture of an M818 5 ton tractor notice the difference in the 5th wheel. I am pretty sure the M275A2 truck in Texas has the correct 5th wheel.
