    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

A couple of years ago I bought a steering wheel and adapter for the humvee. I didn't like the look of the adapter and mounts or the horn setup and I put it on the shelf. After mounting the new ignition switch and steering column lock it was time to revisit the steering wheel. I took the...

Is this 6.5 a lost cause?

I would not put the time into rebuilding it and I put a lot of time into stuff like that. If you have a few hundred hours and about as much money as it costs to buy a replacement, you could rebuild it. That said, in third world and poor countries some guy with a butter knife and can of WD-40...

4 wire cable next to dog house

I don't think so. I just put one in mine and it is just 24v but uses 2 pins for 24 and 2 pins for ground.

4 wire cable next to dog house

Looks like power for a radio. Follow the cable and my guess is it goes to the batteries.

Poll - What Directional Switch do you have?

    LOL, not a problem.

Poll - What Directional Switch do you have?

Ok, so I have version A on my truck and purchased version B. It was just delivered a few minutes ago and now that I have it in hand I see that my picture B is not the complete unit. I am pretty sure version B did not come on HMMWV's. It mounts using a adapter and the hose clamp. The version...

Poll - What Directional Switch do you have?

This is kind of a learning question for me. So far I believe A is Early style. C is late style with cancelling. B also has cancelling but I'm not sure it was used in HMMWV's. Seems too short and I assume all HMWV's have a mount and would not need the hose clamp type mount. I have some minor...

Poll - What Directional Switch do you have?

Isn't that more like C? I would love to see a better picture showing the mount. The photos I used I found online and and had the hose clamps on them. Thanks

Poll - What Directional Switch do you have?

Good call, I changed it so it will allow multiple selections now. I don't think it will allow you to add after the vote was made. Thanks

Hmmwv half doors, any cool patterns or designs out there?

Here's a couple of examples of Skeleton doors that give that wide open feeling and still help retain the precious cargo. It would not be hard to make a set.

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

I made the switch mount and it works but I have to tuck the switch in tighter to the column. I think I can get another 1/8" - 3/16" clearance. This is only required on mine because I shortened the steering column 2", on a stock column it wouldn't be a problem. I ordered a newer style...

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

I'm not sure what you mean. I don't want to round off the rivets. I want maximum contact area and making them smaller reduces the contact area. I

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

In a previous post about the ignition switch I mentioned I might try to upgrade it for increased current capability (more AMPS). During my locking steering column modification I cut open the old Chinese key switch ignition and found the contact plate was burnt and melted. This was partially a...

    700R4 transmission in a HMMWV

I'll also add they have different connectors for the different systems so the current brake light switch wires will only fit the correct connectors on the new brake switch.

    700R4 transmission in a HMMWV

Not 100% sure but it seem to me the NO would be the brake lights ... then when you stepped on the brakes the lights would come on.

    Dongfeng doors on Humvee

Ok, good luck. FYI, the ones I pointed out are made in USA and are a fraction of the prices of what you indicated. They are not a Hummer style "finished" door.

Turn Signal Control Arm Bulb Replacement?

But it's more than that!! I found the thread to be educational on several levels.
