I'll tell you my thoughts because I thought the same thing as you.
I thought I would like to get a mating connector to be able to use some of the signals from it. For example, there is a tach sensor on the motor and the only place it goes it to the STE/ICE connector. You could tap the...
On a side note, I was going to answer your question on Queen earlier and forgot to. I've heard this question brought up before and I grew up listening to Queen. When I was probably 12 or 13 and just getting into Rock music, I had an 8 track tape player in my room and Queen was the 1st tape I...
After a little digging I could not find a rebuild kit for that unit. I did find remanufactured pumps but not the kit. I'm sure it is nothing special, bearing seals etc but you would probably have to source them individually unless someone else knows of a kit part number. I did find the pump...
I don't have the the Fording kit myself but I have read others talk about overfilling something and it getting fluid in the Fording Line. I think it was ATF from the power steering? But I suppose if that is a possibility there may be other possibilities that could allow other oils in the...
Not an expert here and have only had to change my hub oil once and only because it was new to me and I didn't know the condition or maintenance on it.
My thoughts, did you remove the filler plug first? If you did, is that when the excess oil came out? On the other ones I would pull the filler...
If you've never done something like this before, this isn't an easy one to start with. There is nothing that "bolts in" and nothing is "plug and play".
When I initially bought my HMMWV I bought a 2002 Chevy 3500 with a 88,000 mile Duramax the same day with the intentions of doing a swap...
I have both the brush guard and winch. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/my-new-1992-m998-avenger.184818/post-2202543
And the rear winch. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/my-new-1992-m998-avenger.184818/post-2416186
Maxjeep1, Ok, Now I understand what you meant about the chain.
Action, The bow is not where the hitch is, it's about a quarter of the way from the left side. It's also on the side with the bent hinge. It's not a gradual bow either, almost a kink or a bend. Again, I think it was in an...
I took it apart because it is too rigid to untwist while assembled. I think I can fix it much easier apart. I believe it is twisted due to an accident in the rear of the vehicle but I am not sure.
If all you wanted was for the tailgate to be close, that might have worked. One of the reasons I didn't do that is the hinge is bent and needs to be fixed. The hinge attaches to metal that is thinner and when you try to straighten the hinge it just bends the metal it is attached to rather than...
One of the hinges is bent and where both of them attach to the tailgate the tailgate is bent.
Here it is with the top removed. you can see the end fillers and the hinges above it.
After it was all disassembled I tried to capture the essence of the Twistedness. You can see I tried to...
Started another project today, the tailgate! I mentioned previously that I would like to put on an "AM General" embossed tailgate. My truck is registered as an AM General pickup. Here's the story that goes with it.
I found one on FB and the seller sent me pictures (he had a couple). It...
