Ok the bill is now in the House and on the calendar.
Rep. Costello was going to pick it up for me, but was a bit slow and Rep. Winters got to it first. He has a love for WWII re-enactors and such he has already lined up several co-sponsors.
(Rep. Dave Winters - David Harris - Jim Sacia -...
If everyting goes as planned it will be voted on in the house the first week of may. They have 30 days to send it to the governor and he has 60 days to sign or veto it. So some time in august would be my guess
I got your notice yesterday. I just got the revolution email an hour ago. The date stamp is from the 3/26/12. 10:26 am
No worries, i knew it was BS. Keep up the good work.
Today the bill was moved from Second to Third reading. It will voted on next wee by the full senate.
At this point it has no opposition, but if you live in Illinois, it wouldn't hurt to call your senator and ask them to support the bill. Just a few phone calls can make a differance.
your first post said to remove, but yea they do need to go back on. We just cut mine off and are goign to replace them with new hardware when we get that far.
If it is a crane then, LOAD charts and out riggers. old cranes like the Manotowac 4100 you could run by the seat of your pants to a large degree. They wer over built. But todays cranes are lighter and pick more. They will have a catostrophic failure before you even feel it in the seat.
And...
if your talking about a military wrecker, that one thing but it's not a crane. It may get used as a boom truck, but againt it's not a crane.
These are cranes...and I think Gimpy might have been in the last one. . .
Should be Jan 1 2013. The SoS will need a couple of months to get their stuff in order, forms, rules and such.
So passage by may, Gov could sign it in Aug, effective date 1 Jan. So by a commecail plate pro-rated for the summer, last two quarters, then switch plates in Jan.
That is what I...
Quick update as I talked to the chairman of the House committee this would normally go to who dislikes new plate bills. but, he understands this is more than just a plate bill, it alsomdeals with registration fees.
He has agreed not to kill the bill. But, I am going to try and get it assigned...
The was reported out of committee on a vote of 11-0.
Now on the senate calendar for second reading, they will take it up when they come back from the break after the primary on the 20th
It is an agreed bill, so it should move fairly easily
O guys, was told by the senate staffer that our bill got added to the agreed bill list to be passed out of committee. Its for all the non-controversail bills.
Mind you, plate bills never get outmof committees cause the cops hate new plates. So we sold this as a registration bill. So I got...
Ok an update on things, seems we kicked over a hornets nest of sorts.
We got an agreement with the SoS. But then IDOT came in and was all upset, talking about this being a diversion of road fund money as they would not be getting the $$$ from the full price of plates.
They estimated that...
Jesse did serve in the 101st in WWII. But beyond that, he leaves a lot to be desired on a number of issues.
But his office is co-operating on this and I thank them for that. They and I have had run ins over other issues and I have known some of them for almost 20 years. So I get to talk to...
we left the design up to the SoS. Didn't want to get into mircromanaging it on them. just wanted to get a reduced plate that didn't have AV restrictions on it.
