    Another CDL Thread -- Illinois

After reading another thread on 923s and the comment about CDLs, I thought I would post this. Yesterday, I had to schedule a seminar on CDL requirements for our business agent training coming up next month. In doing so I spent a fair amount of time on the phone with the head of CDLs inthe...

    Deuce in flood

This may seem like a dumb question, but how do the batteries not short out with water crossing both termianls when it is submerged?

    CTIS question

Will do. When I start the bobber project, keep an eye out for the thread and remind me.

    CTIS question

If I switch to HEMMITT rims, CTIS is irrelevent to the truck. I want something short of a daily driver, but a bobbed truck I can run around in when I want to without having to worry about filling all my tires and such before I run. I think the CTIS was a great concept. Just to many hurdles...

    CTIS question

Well we recovered another truck today. My friend Roger bought one of the 109s out of Sparta on the last auction. So we went up to get it. On the way home following the truck I saw that the rear diff was hopping constantly. So I took it to be flat spots on the tires and that maybe withe...

    a visit from the Cops. . .

legally you need an air brake endorsement at the minimum. I don't know the GVW on the 915, but i would bet that your below the 16,000 a average license allows. But the GVWR is for 50K and some cops go by the GVW and some go by the GVWR. but without a trailer, it is next to impossible to get to...

    a visit from the Cops. . .

I saw the other thread about the owner of a CUCV havig issue with cops so I had a run in this morning and thought I would post it after reading his. I had gone out and fired up Mark's 915 to warm it up. I plan on getting his trailer out to him this weekend and wanted to check out the truck...

the Start of an (hopefully) execellent adventure

Nope haven't downloaded them yet. May try over the weekend. The hood needs some work, looks like it could hold a duck pond in the center. Couple fo the gusy crawled around it yesterday and commented how clean it is underneath. Got it relocated to the shop in anticipation of the of starting...

    Hoods -- A2 v. A3

Looking at my truck the hood looks like somene walked on on it a "caved in" part fo the center. So I think I might need a new one. That benig said, I got the A3 for the drive line. But i like the look of an A2 front end better. Are A2 & A3 hoods the same or are they different? I know the...

the Start of an (hopefully) execellent adventure

ok so today I went out to find batteries, had to get the truck moved off the street. No one had the U6TLs. For some reason one of the parts stores says their place in TX is sitting on a 125 of them. So I opted out for a pair of 1000 amp batteries I got wired and and she fired right up. It...

the Start of an (hopefully) execellent adventure

Yea the 109 had some tranny problems, no reverse and a starter problem. So my truck is parked on the street and the wife goes out to get somehting and a guy is stopped looking at the truck, ans asks if its for sale. She says no that I just brought it home from McCoy. She tells me later and...

the Start of an (hopefully) execellent adventure

Well, After runningout for donuts this morning, and having my new 12 year old open his birthday presents, I am already beginning to hate these light strike laser tag guns, I went out to give the turck another once over. Pics below All the tires appear new. They still have the stubble on...

the Start of an (hopefully) execellent adventure

I may be slow, but that is the last time I will use the hand throtte while driving. Also gives me the idea to keep a pair of pliers and vice grips in the cab.
