When talking about a clutch its sprag. Sprague is not a word per Merriam-Webster

There really isn't a lot that can go wrong in the sprag unless the outer teeth got sheared off. These pic are of a 5 ton's but I assume the 2 1/2 is the same just smaller.
Well I see in another thread where one got HOT. So I guess that was from going the wrong way maybe.
Does any one know how to get the spring back in the sprag clutch?? I got it in once but it popped out again as I was trying to put it back on the shaft.
For all of you that said to pull the flywheel and replace the rear main seal.................
It was seeping some so good call!! Don't know if it was the seal or the tube of silicone they used on the retainer. It sure came off easy even the seal. The retainer has the 3 holes , so plus there...

Personally I prefer the 5lb ones that have the hose and if you get one with the metal head they are refillable. Just get one that comes with the bracket. Shop around prices very. And take it out and shake it every month or so or the powder will pack down. I think the military used "purple K" its...
