    It's alive!!!

The water separators I have are all OEM and all plastic, for what it's worth. Having one is the priority, less so the material IMO. BDGR

Graves Mountain Rally Syria Virginia 2024

IAD, Dulles Airport, is a half hour closer than Reagan (DCA) and escapes the DC beltway traffic. It would be my preference. That said, if Reagan is noticeably cheaper, it's not a terrible drive. Avoid Baltimore Washington International (BWI). Many airlines try to steer you to BWI with cheaper...

    2002 M1123 4L80E Strange Shifting

In my case, the trans was jumping out of OD into neutral. I figured out after a lot of head scratching that the control rod between the shifter and lever on the trans had been bent a little during demil of the powertrain I'd had swapped in. While it seemed to shift through the gears OK, it had...

    303M HydraMatic rebuild

Thanks for these tips and tricks Rustystud. I don't know if I'll ever use them personally, but I am enjoying being part of your sharing experience. BDGR

    NP218 questions

Don't discount easy fixes like loose brackets or other fasteners. I had a strange noise in my truck and it turned out to be a bracket for some piece of equipment they unbolted from the bed during demil and never bothered to remove the corresponding bracket on the underside, so it fell on top of...

    Hard vs soft......doors

William Welch of Blue Ox Tops on Facebook sells door skins that velcro on. His customers love them. He uses milspec heavy vinyl and Ford Bronco OEM clear vinyl. Top shelf stuff. If you want to keep soft doors, check him out. https://www.facebook.com/groups/967096063720957 BDGR

Good on you for doing a thorough job!

So I was just looking for a Chevy Pickup...

Congrats on the new truck. There was one local to me that I badly wanted but still can't justify the purchase and the driveway is too small to hide it from my wife. One day. Some day. Bulldogger

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Bill does great work. If you ever want a soft slant back to match I use the same material from the same vendor. BDGR

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Made In America, Buy America The vinyl I use is made in New Jersey and the other parts (thread, cord and cord lock) are also US-made. And then it's made (by me) in Virginia. BDGR

Happy to help! Hey, you need some footmen on the fenders and in the bed! The 1" can usually be found elsewhere on the truck, look behind the drivers seat or on the top of the inside of the windshield, for instance. Inside the bed on each side is supposed to be a long flat one that has been...

    Lenders for HMMWV purchase?

Bottom line is do your homework. Pictures are nice but not the same as laying hands on it. Plan to physically visit the depot before bidding. Self-pickup is better than arranging shipping, and be prepared to have to do A LOT of routine maintenance before trusting it. BDGR

Best places to look for a reliable 6.5 TD engine? What is needed to swap from a 6.2?

Beware of salvage 6.5 powertrains from late generation HMMWV scrappers. Mine was removed with bolt cutters and a blowtorch. All connectors were yanked apart, regardless of how they were screwed together, etc. Then there were the forklift tine strikes on the oil pan and transfer case. It was very...

    Lenders for HMMWV purchase?

USAA didn't mind loaning me, but membership eligibility is not open to all. BDGR

Is this a typo mistake or it’s possible?

Pretty sure my old 1987 6.2/3L80 drivetrain had a NP242. I thought it was original, given the age and lack of upgrades my National Guard truck had (or didn't have). BDGR
