Additionally, one of those wires is 24V+ all the time regardless of the status of the ignition. If you cut it you may see sparks. I second the recommendation to remove it carefully. You will find a buyer in due course for that cabling. Welcome to the forum, Bulldogger

Check if your transfer case is part of the cooling loop for the transmission. Mine is. I thought ALL were. This means your transfer case fluid is the same as the automatic transmission and is being constantly shared/changed. BDGR

Thanks for this advice and info RWH. I was told by someone else to pull the trans and Tcase together. Is that also your practice? For the engine, I have a motorcycle lift handy that I can put some big blocks of wood on. I think that would support the engine just fine. Much appreciated. BDGR
