I'll give them a call. From the pictures the trans' look like they've been ripped out without much thought or care. Fittings and connections are probably open or broken or both. Look more like cores than usable trans. But I'll give them a call.

Thanks for the replies. I’ve been on the phone w Jasper. Their product impressed me. The Jasper option is more expensive than some but has a very solid warranty. I’m trying for good enough, rather than sink a lot into a truck I’m going to sell. Probably easier to sell it as-is.
Has anyone on the forum used an ATK Remanufactured 4L80E in their HMMWV? I had a cooling loop clog and my trans bit the dust a while back. I've been randomly finding time to search for a repair/replacement and this appears the best for the money, especially considering a local rebuilder wants...
To answer your original post, @twisted60, I made some replacement floor mats and a front passenger tunnel insulation cover using OD green ballistic nylon sandwiched around some thick plastic swimming pool winter cover scraps I scavenged at one of my son's swim meets. Made drain holes using brass...
I coated the inside of my 6.5TD doghouse with dynamat, or an equivalent, and reflective tape, on top of the factory supplied insulation. It made ZERO difference. That thing is LOUD.
YMMV. Bulldogger
Anyone in NOVA have experience dropping a 4L80 out from under a HMMWV? I need to pull mine to have it rebuilt. Don't have the facilities to pull the whole drivetrain, nor do I want to. Figuring on disconnecting the propellor shafts, unbolting the transfer case and crossmember, removing it, then...
+1 on that. It's an M37 in low gear that wins the slow race nearly every year at the Graves Mountain Rally. In low range first gear they barely crawl, but they also don't stall. I'd say it's perfect for what you need.

I have a 1987 and some of the ball joints have zerks and some do not. So far I haven't had any problems. At some point in the future I will replace them all, but not today and tomorrow's not looking good either.

Since you're learning about HMMWV drivetrains here I'll add a tip about driving on road versus off road:
As stated, HL and L on the transfer case are for OFF ROAD use only. H is for normal ON ROAD driving. HL and L both lock the differentials so all tires turn together with no slip between them...
I didn't know there was a hobbyist license/version. This is good news! Though I'm sure at the end of the 3-years they will lean on me to pay. It does look like prices for a subscription have been reduced since I last checked, or I was accidentally looking at commercial licenses. Regardless, I...
Online auction sites will give some idea of their value, to help you set an asking price. I bought one a few years ago to use in my HMMWV. Someone will buy them. I might buy another if the price was right.

I think you mean allowing automatic bidding up to some setpoint on behalf of a legitimate user? I'm referring to false bids to drive up the price, and when the false bids are not exceeded by legitimate bids, GP relists it automatically. If this is true, they are purposefully driving up bids to...
I haven't been bidding lately, but I've also noticed quick re-listing. The most obvious explanation is GP using ghost bids to drive the price up, but that is very irresponsible. It's a private site, not a public government entity, so strictly speaking they have a lot of leeway.
Proof would be...
Mod to fit a turbo into a non-turbo truck without cutting the doghouse or giving the suspension a lift? On my truck we cut the interior lip of the doghouse, it doesn't show and didn't involve cutting the turbo. Still, I'm guessing that some sort of modification to improve clearance.

It does sound like the transfer case is stuck in neutral. Are you sure it is shifting? Might crawl under it and confirm the TC linkage is intact. The linkage rods are only held on with cotter pins, and they sometimes fail/fall.
