Folks, I'm sorry this has taken a little longer. I am a partner in an environmental compliance business that deals with stormwater....................... and as you can imagine, the last month has been a zoo.
Yes, the official date is set, per D-town as Oct. 16-20, 2019. If you have a...
These are all correct and I agree with all of them.
I would like to add a comment about the 1987-1989 USAF contract dual circuit trucks.
They do use a more modern aluminum master cylinder that does not have the provisions for the winch pto shifter to attach to.
And AM General deserves a lot...
That is the right way to blow something up w/ extreme prejudice.
I had a junky Road Runner daily driver w/ a 383, 4speed and a 3.91 chunk (8 3/4") that used the '69+ pinion crush sleeve.
Got to work one morning and that last 1/4 mile, something sounded a little different in the back. Was at...
Holy moly.
I have a friend who does high end metalwork on expensive ($$$$) antiques and musclecars.
This is them and a '69 M-code (440 6 pack) Super Bee. Typical of 50 year old cars:
On something that's worth $150K, you can fix the cab you have.
On your truck? Buy a cab and be done with it.
Ok, I have some excess shirts I'd like to sell you. And your wife. And kids. Parents? I'll sell them some shirts.

I want to take this moment to remind everyone about the awesome support we received from Memphis Equipment this year. The support of vendors like Memphis allows us to put on this event and have things like tents to eat in and hand washing stations to wash our hands with.
Memphis has been with...
I had 15 years of images on Photobucket and the site kept getting so bad (so many ads and pop ups that if you clicked a link to see an image, it took 5 minutes to get to the image) that when I decided to delete the account, I found I couldn't get all my images because PB had removed the...
https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?11516-Crane-Ideas&p=109819&viewfull=1#post109819 <---- discussion and pics of various bed mounted cranes
So, here's the problem with all of the various cranes you can mount in these trucks: you have to build a really serious support system under...
I bought my truck 7 years ago and it already had the metal motors and I've never had to fuss with them. I upgraded the arms and blades and they work all the time.
I suspect at issue is the way SS is hosted and how we manage images.
The vast, vast majority of web forums, for anything from baking to camping to vehicles allow people to host images elsewhere. So if you start a how-to thread on how to make chocolate chip cookies, you post all your images to...
Ok,
A. Is it difficult?
No. Transmission doesn't have to come out. Get it up in the air, pull the pan. And for all of you reading this, even if the rear main isn't leaking, you should pull the pan. The picture below is a customer's M38A1 that was cruise night quality and ran...
I would go over that truck with a fine tooth comb and make sure you know what you're buying. The kind of person who'd avoid buying a $25 engine stop cable and rig up a coat hanger is probably not the kind of person who was spending money on maintenance items.
It's a challenge to get antiques not to leak. Modern vehicles are multitudes better in that regard. I have a 90K mile car that doesn't leak a drop. My '68 Road Runner probably had a dozen leaks when it was 6 months old.
However................ you can get there.
No plastic on the red car...
I am in process of dealing with a lot of those issues on '42 GPW.
There are of places where the vehicles commonly leak, but on that one, I'd give it a good bath and then drive it a little. When there are fluids everywhere, it's hard to tell what the source of the leak is.
Before going any...
One of the worst things about the internet is how it's democratized opinion.
Prior to the internet, if you wanted to post your opinion about anything - presidential candidates, dogcatcher candidates, the merits of a local restaurant or vintage vehicles - you had to find a magazine that would...
