Ive read that is "pretty safe" to pull low amp 12V from the rear battery + side. Should I pull the 24V from the front battery + or from the buss bar on the bulkhead?
M1097R1 Accessory Wiring Questions. Im adding a few LED lights (24V) and a 2 way radio (12V - 25W) to my truck. Ive added a 14V charge wire from my 200Amp alt/reg back to my rear battery.
My questions are ....
Where is the best place to pull 12V (I thnk about 3amps) for the radio?
Where is...
I agree 100% . I own a business which sells automotive replacement parts. In our world an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) part generally commands a premium price as they should. Because supplies become depleted, vendors sometimes must have items reproduced - the hope being the new...
The simple solution is usually the best.
This is by no means a solicited endorsement.... I just want to share my expericence.
Cam's Camotek systems Start Box solved the problem(s) - the truck starts like it should. No more worrying about IF it will start on a cold day.
Installation was...
Update:
Replaced all 8 GPs with 3/8" Wellman plugs from Mike at Black Dog Custom - who was very helpful.
Unfortunately only one GP did not spec-out bad (0.8ohm).
Charged both batteries fully and we still have only a single brief flash on the "WAIT" light and no GP charge.
After talking to...
I love this group... Great information and at a reasonable price.
I'll hook the 12v to the 10a beer cooler and the other accessories will remain 24v.... Thank you sir!
So run the wire for the VR 14+ tab to the rear "+" post
Then tap the rear "+" post for a 12v bus bar and run something off that.
While tapping the 24v accessories of the front 24v bus bar...
Does that sound like a good plan?
I would like to add some accessories and so far everything Ive been able to purchase is 12v / 24v compatible (LEDs, Bluetooth, amp / volt meters etc).
If I choose to operate only 24v accessories, is it best to pull power from the forward most bus bar "positive " post in the battery box?
Then...
To your question.... I ordered 3/8" Wellmann Glow Plugs from Black Dog Custom - they are dead nuts correct.
To your comment ... Nothing to do with being Politically Correct. - Im sick of the cancel culture, blame game and refuse to participate. I did not do enough research before making my...
Im sorry - Im not into the flame game. Buying the wrong plugs was my fault. As a novice, I did not do enough homework on the subject before pulling the trigger. And even more my fault not asking the right question(s) before buying them. I take responsibility for it. They supplier was...
I personally own a similar type of business - over the past 30 years we've built the largest, most successful such company in our field.... And I totally agree with the above statements. But as a man who makes a good living selling parts, I hate these sorts of forum flame contests which vilify...
We can hope they learn from the feedback and lost sale. Also that since the information is available to buyer, including myself, that "10mm or 3/8" is a question we all ask before buying from now on. Its not my place to out someone publicly for a possible error if they handled the mistake...
The supplier was gracious about this.
They stated that they were not aware of any issues with the plugs they offered and accepted the return.
100% professional - so we'll just leave it at that.
3/8" GPs are coming from BDC - so there's hope still I can pull out of my wife's parking spot in the...
I had been warned about the 10mm GPs but had already ordered these. It was disappointing to open the package and find these. 3/4 Wellman plugs are on the way so there is hope yet. And like I always say, a man can never have too many tools so the extractor is on the way as well. Ill report...
Im going to replace my glow plugs but I had a few questions for the brain trust.
I purchased replacement plugs from a well known vendor (the highest grade they offer) but they are 10mm not 3/8. Is it true that the 10mm plugs are inferior? - if so I'll likely try to return them.
From where...
A set of glow plugs are on the way - purchased from one of the vendors who states that they are AM General plugs - so fingers crossed there.
Also have an extractor on the way from another source.... One can never have too many new tools!
