    Wiring help, seeking wisdom

I just thought there is another possibility...you have wiring looms not for your truck...

    Wiring help, seeking wisdom

All the original wiring is the same color, black. Each end has a small aluminum tag attached with alpha-numeric designations for purpose. The code is the same for virtually all US 24V tactical vehicles and is listed in many TM's (especially the M37 series) that makes electrical connections...

    Differential Backlash Spec

Does it have the original engine or a repower? Reason being I put a Detroit 3-53 in one and logged almost 250K on it, but it cost me 13 sets of ring/pinion gears. Ate them to razor blades. Lesson learned, they don't like higher torque & HP at faster road speeds. All that was before...

    1952 REO M41

Indeed, that is a rare 5-ton. It was originally designed to run 14.00-20 Non-directional tires on 10" wheels with a different offset. The rear hubs were flipped to put the lugbolt flange out. The 6602 is a great engine, had higher horsepower (234) than any of the later Diesels or multifuels...

Colorado Bill SB19-054 RE: (Former) Military Vehicle Motor Vehicle Regulation

Look to get some deals on older MV's, unless someone with a lick of sense fixes this.

    Thoughts on WAGO connectors

    ^ This.

    Thoughts on WAGO connectors

Tape has a correct place in electrical work: Coding black wires for phase, neutral, or ground. Also to change another wire color on both ends if necessary.

    M1078 air brakes

Think about it: When not held back by air pressure, that spring locks the drum/wheel/tire of a heavy truck. Right now.

    M1078 air brakes

Use caution with the air pots like that in your photo. The brakes are activated two ways: The smaller device will use air pressure to apply them. The larger device is a spring chamber, under considerable pressure that sets the brakes if air is lacking. Sort of a fail-safe and a good parking...

    Super Single tire swapping

I lost a 14.00-20 Goodyear mid-axle on my M54A1. On a dirt road, maybe 20-30 MPH. Jeeebus, it was hard to keep from letting it get crosswise cause it dug in hard. Come to think of it, maybe the front axle came online because of the slippage and that is why I was able to get it straight. I...

    Thoughts on WAGO connectors

2018 NFPA electrical code for virtually every outlet in a house other than 30A ones. Supposedly because of fatalities from electric blankets... Yep, they are a weight-loss item, from all the exercise one gets running back & forth to your breaker panel. Tell her to call someone to take them...

    Thoughts on WAGO connectors

Next thing you know, someone will try and tell me Arc Fault outlets/breakers are actually a good thing...

    Thoughts on WAGO connectors

WAGOs do stranded wire better than wire nuts in my observations.

Colorado Bill SB19-054 RE: (Former) Military Vehicle Motor Vehicle Regulation

Does this crap go as far back as WW2 MV's? Veterans' day parades are going to get a lot more boring...

Operation: Gertrude. Kendelrios M715 restoration thread

After bumping around in the buckboard 715, the M37 ride will spoil you.

    Wiring help, seeking wisdom

The temp & oil senders, Bendix regulator plug, horn, and the dimmer switch wires come out on the driver side, and run down along the firewall. If I remember rightly, the brake light switch wires come out on the passenger side, then connect to the rear loom along with the rear lights and fuel...

    M105 trailer...

Ye Olde 105 is a real off-road trailer from the beginning. Stout, easy to maintain, good brakes when properly towed. The non-directional tires will last many moons.
