I'm slowly accumulating spare parts for my trailers and I've hit a wall on the wheel bearings for the M200A1 under my MEP-004A generator. The inner seal, spindle nuts and lock are the same as the M105A2 trailers. Unfortunately the wheel bearings are a different part number. The M200A1 TM lists...
I'm not familiar with that brand but that is a great deal in todays market. Does anyone know how much is required for a full refill plus some extra for bleeding? I'm guessing that a gallon should do it but I want to cover my bases.
After reaching out to a few suppliers I was surprised to get a reply from Olga at Iris Industries. Apparently they are still around but closed their GoDaddy website. With her permission here is the current contact information for Iris Industries. Just ordered a gallon of DOT 5 from them.
Hope...
Kicking up an old one. Prices locally are insane on DOT 5 and it looks like Iris Industries is long gone. Any leads on current brake fluid suppliers in todays market? Coming up on a full service on all 3 axles and I might as well do brakes while I'm in there.
The end users did a lot of troubleshooting, problem solving, and product development for Cummins and Daimler-Chrysler. They were constantly watching the Cummins forums and high performance websites. When I owned my old company I could see who had visited the site, how long they stayed, and what...
With the advancements in media it would be nice if someone could come out with a higher flowing filter that had the required capacity and micron rating. Unfortunately we are a micro segment and I don't see a company investing the R&D time or cost.
I think the answer to your question is that nobody knows. Maybe no one has tried it. If no one has actually tried it then all you will get are opinions. The only way to know for sure is to try it. I don't have the money to take and entire intake system from mushroom cap turbo inlet and have it...
So by your math the trucks are physically incapable of making more than 2.27 psi of boost without destroying the filter? How is it that C and D turbo equipped truck make far more than this on a stock filter? Where is the incoming air coming from for the turbo to compress?
Tough as nails, yes. But they are still dinosaur technology and require constant attention. At least in my experience. The constant attention becomes less once you've gone through one from end to end but never completely stops.
Not to be harsh but if you're not willing to do a simple tank drop and clean then a Deuce is not for you. These truck take a lot of maintenance to live a happy life and be safe on the road. Maintenance free they are not.

On another note, the ranges shown on that particular gauge are a good pre-turbo match for the safe, caution, and danger temp ranges on a multifuel. Just relocate the probe and you are good to go.
I've dealt with ISSPRO for a long time and never understood their post-turbo recommendations. I know some of it stems from liability but the numbers on that gauge are very close to what we consider correct pre-turbo ranges.
The problem with the "post turbo" ranges shown are that the probe...
Terrible low-res photos but the connection point is definitely a welded in plate. Bummed since the door is in perfect condition and I won't be able to keep it original. Looks like I'm stuck converting to straps or swapping out the door.
After 30+ years of working the heavy truck and high performance business I've never seen a probe fail. Go pre-turbo and get some accurate readings. Your engine will thank you. =)
Funny you mention that. My old Jeep Wrangler uses limiting straps. I was looking at them last night. I really want to keep the truck as original as possible but if push comes to shove, straps it is.
