Those cross members are what is holding your box to the frame. (i.e., the reason the floor doesn't buckle and your box slump onto your tires.) Are you doing something to return the structure you removed?
I plan to start turning my 109 box into an off road RV. What do you plan to do with the floor?
I need to figure it out myself, just know I want a solid foundation if I am going to spend time and money building it out.

I changed mine over to a commercially available alternator and it is purring like a kitten.

I bought my deuces and M931A2 because they have 6 wheels. That is part of the cool factor for me.
With that said, if you buy it, you own it, and you have the right to do with it as you may. If people believe trucks or anything should be preserved, then they should save, buy and preserve it.
I think the A0-A1 (larger non-turbo engine) get the 5-7ish and the A2 (smaller turbo engine)can get up to 9-10.
A lot depends on where you drive and how you drive.
