I am only 5'10 and I think its cramped in there !.
That has to be a recapitalized unit as it looks like new. Yup you got the rare hein werner ripper bucket. Its a beefy rig. I saw reference somewhere that they only came with the stock bucket and if anyone in the army tried to order one, they...
Looking good from here. Looks like new paint on the front bucket. Did it come with any hydraulic tools (jackhammer, drill and chainsaw)? I would be interesting if you got the standard bucket or the optional ripper bucket. Post a few more pictures including one from the back.
The hood looks...
Either a 406 or a 406 descendent Case MB-94 . The MB-94s were rebadged 406 distributed and supported by Case in the US and were popular with municipal and government agencies. I think the pricing or leasing must have been attractive as a lot were sold or leased to municipalities. They were...
A strong recommendation is to get the high resolution file from the Misc technical manual forum instead of the two part version in the student handout. Speaking of the student handout, you do want to get the smaller schematic that shows the rear deck wiring from the handout as that is not on the...
I think the problem is, if the new boot does not have an air connection, then the turning on the valve is not going to make a difference. I guess I need to crawl under my SEE once the snow melts as I did not know there was an air connection on the boot ;)
There is big experience base on Benzworld on the 400 series models and the same axles were used on the SBU series. it would be worth doing some searching on how others do it.
Unless you plan to be "fordng" with your SEE, its best to disconnect the pressurization system. Its fed low pressure air from a pressure regulator that if it fails, supplies full pressure to the system and will blow out the seals on the portals.
I have not done the repair but I have seen references to people using split boots for replacements. The original does not have a seam. The replacements have molded seam that is held together with hardware and sealed with silicone...
I think the horn is fairly simple but the location of the actual horn is vulnerable to damage. You probably need to check to see if it working by applying 24 volts to the horn and then tracing the wires back. The Tech manual electrical diagnosis section has some great diagnostics on the wiring...
Diesel Unimog New & Used Parts & Vehicles | VonsMog Von is not a FLU 419 specific parts supplier but has a lot of new and used 406 parts that may fit the Mercedes portion of the 419. The 419 is the ultimate and last iteration of the 406 model. He has gear reduction starters that reportedly will...
Yup, crapped up fuel system will get folks everytime. I hope you didnt pay a mechanic to solve it. We all end up with miscellaneous spare Unimog parts, I think its an ownership requirement ;)

BTW there is special very expensive custom tool for dealing with the plastic fuel hoses. I think most folks either use my previously described method or use...
Not the injection pump, the cam driven plunger pump in the foreground. I think I paid less than 100 bucks for a spare but never installed it during my starting woes.
Of course, the boat tank test doesnt need it.

Back in high school I would occasionally have to get crap boxes running. With a gas engine the questions were, does it have fuel, ignition and would it turn over. We didnt have money to burn, so before going any further, we unscrewed a plug and laid it on the manifold and looked for a spark...
