I’ll have some M67 immersion heaters, NATO fuel cans, short 40mm ammo cans, 81mm ammo cans, and some work lights. The work lights are for use in wet conditions and have both magnets and eye bolts for hanging.
There are several things that could be a problem. Whenever this “problem” occurs the first place to check is the Protection Control Box (PCB). It is the large metal box under the hood on the firewall, in front of the driver. It has a couple of connectors with a bunch of wires coming out of the...
That is a somewhat rare vehicle. It doesn’t look like it has been molested. If it was closer, I would jump on it.
To make this a little clearer. It should be a stoning offence do anything but keep it original.
After selling three M59 field ranges complete over the last two weeks and having to dig another one out for another sale it seems I’m almost out of them. If anyone needs an empty cabinet for their MKT I still have around fifteen of them. I have a few items that will be listed later. Just wanted...
It seems that the lower bolts that hold the cover on the 8.3L tend to loosen over time. Had to do the same thing a few years back. Since the oil leak had covered everything under the hood with oil, I cleaned the engine up with a siphon gun and solvent, it made things easier. I also pulled the...
The hinge bolts just slip in. I haven’t had to remove any from my M939’s, yet. However, on the M39 and M800 series, I have not been able to remove one without damaging it. I find it easier to replace the hinges. Kroil and an impact bit driver is your friend on the counter sunk Philips screws.
If you are referring to the M39, M44, 800, and M939 trucks there could be a couple of problems.
Make sure the inside door latch is pulled up as apposed to down. Down is the combat lock. It may help to remove the inside door handle and check to see if the shaft turns and that the door handle...
M35A2-AZ covered the large filter perfectly. The A2 trucks have a screw on filter on the left side of the engine above the fuel pump. It helps but isn’t necessary to fill the second filter with fuel before priming if the first filter has fuel in it.
After all the new filter(s) are installed...
As already posted, that is a M149A2 water trailer. They are based on the M103 trailer and will tow like a M105.
If one looks at thread

post number 98 there is a full listing of things to have...
When Slate revived this thread, his question was about recovering an empty trailer with a pickup. There seems to be a some “incorrect” knowledge on this topic going around. An empty M105 weighs 2750 lbs. Trailer brakes are only required for trailers that weigh over 3000 lbs. My suggestion was to...
The closest thing I could find out is that the cable is listed for use with the Repeater Set, Radio AN/ TRC(V) NSN 5820-00-868-8208. TM 11-5820-535-24&P
As listed for use with the two generators PU-618/620 which are 5 KW units.
The plug on the end of the cable is listed as part number U-237...
Short answer is yes, one can tow an empty M105 with a regular/ full size pickup.
Now for the nitty gritty. You will need a pintle hook type hitch. It is best to have one bolted to a 2” receiver drawbar with 10-12” of lift. That way the trailer will ride close to level.
For safety chains...
It is probably turbo oil seal failure. Pull the clamps from the intake and exhaust from the turbo and see how much play is in the turbine. Then you can go from there.
The older 6TL batteries when delivered dry required as maccus has posted acid when placed in service. The batteries would come in a box, dry with a container of acid, still have some tucked away like that. Some came just in a box without acid and it was obtained separately.
When a new...
The floorboards are held down with as you have seen metal strips. The strips are in turn retained with carriage bolts that pass thru the metal strips, between the boards then thru the frame cross members. They are secured with lock washers and nuts. The easiest way to remove the strips is to cut...
Replacing the wood could be problematic. I’m not sure of the ones made in 1972. however, the ones made in 63 and 67 use mahogany wood for the floors and sides. The other problem is the floors are 2” thick and the side are 1” thick. Modern dimensioned lumber is too thin.
The back panels are...
What year is it? It looks to be a late sixties, around 1967, since the data plates are on the front. If you have never taken the sides off one of those you may be surprised at how heavy they are. The two up front and the two in the rear are extra heavy. A crowbar is your friend when handling them.
While this is different that what you are planning it may give you some ideas.
We modified a M105 for use as a shop/ tool trailer for when we were in the woods. Extensions were added to the uprights to provide more inside room. Then plywood was installed on the inside on both sides and the...
After reading the article you linked to it left me with some questions. All the DOT cops in Maryland that I have had the “pleasure” of interacting with only required the mud flaps to extend past the rear axle. In other words when looking at the rear of the vehicle the upper half of the tire was...
If the brakes work well there shouldn’t be a pressure issue. This sounds like a pressure switch issue.
Inside the switch is a diaphragm that flexes under pressure that closes the contacts inside. Over time the switch can get gummed up or the diaphragm can become brittle and either stop flexing...
