Blown head gasket or something else?

Did the 19 lb rad cap pull coolant and not hold pressure? Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

    Project Wild Weasel M1009

That clutch part and lock mechanism as well as the window guides lmc has unless you have a set laying around! Those window gears are not around to much right now so I hope you have one of those! Looks like a decent project you got there. Yes this rain is weird...none all summer then now all...

Resistor bypass and belt squeal **FIXED**

Thats not a big deal really in the scope of things! As long as it starts good. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

Resistor bypass and belt squeal **FIXED**

Yeah I don't have that on any of mine but I know it works. Make sure you don't run them to long they'll expand and stop working....then that'll be an entirely new thread to fix. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

Resistor bypass and belt squeal **FIXED**

Yes the resistor is only used for direct power from both batteries through the glow plug relay to the glow plugs in the stock setup. Other than that it does nothing. So in theory back to your belt squeeling issue, one battery getting the glow plugs going will definitely load the one alternator...

Resistor bypass and belt squeal **FIXED**

As far as the alternators go for the glow plug resistor they don't really have anything to do with how it gets power since the battery/s do all the work. I like the 24 volt system even though all mine don't use the resistor. The starter is about it on the engine. I use the jump port for running...

Resistor bypass and belt squeal **FIXED**

The splitting is actually extremely simple. The resistor gets its power from the fire wall junction box which both batteries are hooked to giving it 24 volts...this is stock. Removing the resistor only requires running the power wire to the glow plug relay from the 12 volt junction box next to...

Resistor bypass and belt squeal **FIXED**

Good deal on the batteries..the block I should have said where the 12 volt line comes from the battery to the firewall. Pop a heat gun on that too just to see if you have some resistance on the connection. Headlights draw some amps but not a ton. The blower motor on high should pull more...I'd...

Resistor bypass and belt squeal **FIXED**

The resistor bypass does put the load on one battery vs 2...goes directly to 12 volt vs being knocked down from both batteries 24 volt to 12...my guess would be the battery is weak and the headlights load is bringing it down. Put a volt meter on the block and see how low the volts go. Are the...

Will a cucv run with missing belts?

Sure! Do one belt at a time so if the noise goes away you'll know which one it is. Once you get both belts off the water pump don't run it to long though. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

CUCV Heaven, My build of a 1009 and 1008

More surplus store scores today. Got the gm mount for the blazer fuel can in the back plus the pintle mount and cross bar for the back. He put new bolts in the pintle and wiring mount. It is fun finding this stuff since most of them don't look up what they fit and the price is great! Sent from...

Iron Planet Title - DRASH trailer

Yes you gotta ask for the sf97 when you pay for it. You get a Sf97 for the trailer...then wait months until that gets done. You take that form to the notary and they submit it for a title. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

MEP-803A Long time reader first time poster

That's great you got it going good! Just a thought since I mounted mine on wood too. I cut old tires sidewalls into rectangles to fit under the genset since it vibrated on the wood so much. Could feel it everywhere. That tire stuff stopped the drone vibration that drove me nuts. Sent from my...

Need an aftermarket fuel filter for my M1009. Recommendations?

I've seen some guys use the spin on filter setup off a newer chevy pickup that fits into where the original one is now.

    “84 M1009 electrical/ignition problems

Wouldn't that mean he'd have no power right...probably burned up the wire going to the rear battery for the 12 volt conversion. Fusible link?? Ignition switch burned up or out of adjustment? Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

    Gen 1 Dash Light

I'm confused...maybe try a better google translation. If you unplug the regulator on gen one the light should go out. Does it do that? Your batteries will show 26 volts....one battery is at 12 and the other at 14 hence the 26 volts gen one is not working Unplug the regulator and see...

That Line x will be fine when you paint it. I wonder if you need to use a primer on it so it sticks right?
