When I was in Germany back in the 70's the Air Force had a craft shop where you could work on your civilian vehicle.
They also had a huge yard of vehicles that had been abandoned by military guys when they PCS'd back to the states.
You could strip parts off these vehicles and a lot of them...
I just shipped two trucks to Canada from my warehouse in Alabama.
The same guy that owns those trucks has two 5 tons in Columbia that either need to be shipped to the same location or be sold. He just wants to break even on them at this point.
These are very low mileage rebuilds that came out...
Here is my modified M927A2. Took the long bed off and put on a dropside 5 ton bed. Installed a civy 5th wheel behind the bed so I could tow my van trailer without using a converter dolly.
Long but still easy to maneuver around.
The picture shown was when I delivered another van trailer I sold...
Having rail loaded a lot of military vehicles and then unloaded them on the other end I would never ship a single vehicle by rail.
Most rail freight sits on sidings in large yards in major metro areas where the local thugs pretty much have free reign.
We had vehicles arrive at NTC with...
Unless you can find someone parting a truck out you got to run what you brung. It's close enough for government work.
Come to think of it I may have one in the CONNEX......let me look.:?:
I just went through a failed Indigogo campaign to raise money for my movie.
These things are iffy and there are some restrictions on what happens if you don't reach a goal.
I'd do a lot of research first.
I still have the truck although I did modify it so I could pull a van trailer with it.
I have not modified anything else although I would like to straight pipe it, put in a less restrictive air cleaner and have the engine turned up a little.
I also have a 20 foot dropside bed that came off a...
Many of the HEMMT's I encountered had an air valve installed in the fuel cap. This was used to put LOW pressure on the fuel system.
Detroits are notoriously hard to prime. Even on civilian trucks it was a bear to get them to fire if they had lost prime.
That's one reason you never, ever want...
Every 1st Friday in Gadsden, Alabama they block off the main street and have a street fair that includes cars and other vehicles. Myself and some of the other collectors in the area usually try to show the flag with a few military vehicles.
I have also used mine at a benefit for the Humane...
I think it's the axle seals on the A3 that are made out of "Unobtainum" and cost a war pension. IMHO all the CTIS were designed by an idiot after conferring with a group of morons.
There are vendors here that have good tires for decent money.
The spigot for super single tires is still open from the gooberment for now. You might go to a certain government surplus website and see if you can by them yourself close by or you can pay a middleman and get them that way.
In my...
