Unless you are a purist this is what I did with the M109 deuce I had. I went to a body shop that had a bunch of junk Dodge Neons sitting around and bought a set of front bucket seats out of one.
I fabbed mounts for them from angle iron and used all thread and galvanized pipe (for spacers) to...
They will suck the bottom out of the fuel tank. We have ran them out of fuel on the yard just using them for a crane.
Other than that nice pieces of equipment,.
GovPlanet can't sell them till the government releases them to GovPlanet . There are still deuces trickling out that for some reason the government decided to keep .
One of the things that drives turn ins is equipment replacement and money available to do turn ins.
Some units are authorized...
Check into using a saddle setup like the guys that deliver Class 8 trucks use.
Basically you attach the steering axle to the 5th wheel of the towing truck. You can do this multiple times.

Years ago I bought what I thought was an M35 through Govliquidation.
When I got to Redstone to pick it up it was an M36. The GL guy offered to void the sale but I assured him I was satisfied with the deal.
I later sold it to a fellow SS member SCSG-G4 from South Carolina. It now pulls the MKT...
How fast? How far? What terrain?
Most military trucks were under rated. I've pulled over 100k with a M818 tractor but it didn't like it, I never got out of low range and the Motor Sergeant was not amused or impressed. Less than ten miles with an MP escort.
Pulling usually isn't the problem...
I was in three different military units that had the A2 5 tons. There are a lot of nuances and tricks of the trade that you pick up.
One is the electric fuel shutoff solenoid on the 8.3 Cummins diesel. They have a tendency to de-energize and will not open if the battery switch is turned on...
The super single tires were an upgrade on the older trucks and were put on for various reasons.
The A2 upgrade got the Cummins 8.3 turbo diesel, CTIS, Super singles and sometimes electric wipers depending on where they were overhauled.
The 1100x20 dual tires weigh a lot less than a super...
Alice had already mentioned that she was a she.
I'm still pretty strong for my age but wrestling a 500 pound tire off and on the hub (maybe with traffic zooming inches away) is not something I want to tackle.
If you can keep it upright and rolling you are golden. If it falls down flat on the...
Most diesel shops that have an "old school mechanic" can work on them.
Shop labor for my guy is 75 bucks an hour if he can use the book to figure the rate. He just quoted me 350 bucks to replace an exhaust manifold gasket if there are no broken studs.
For most common repairs the book will...
Someone posted videos on here a while back about retreading tires (I think, may have been another site I frequent).
They showed what was basically a big lathe that a tire on a rim was chucked into and a tools cut the tire down true so a recap could be applied.
Not sure if it would be cost...
Just remember it has a throw away CAT engine in it.
Any engine painted yaller is going to cost you money when it breaks.'
Ask Papa Bear what he thinks about those engines. They were used in some of the roll back trucks he operates.
