Nice find !!! CTIS has been removed , probably when they put 395 tires on it , figure a change of ALL fluids and filters , new batteries , chassis lube and a wheel bearing service . I also converted the wheel bearings to the A2 style , Read all the TM's and take it one step at a time
I will be following this , I would love to find somebody who makes a QUALITY OEM type dash pad for the CUCV , sorta like trying to find a honest politician !!!! LOL !!! :tank:
Very nice find !!! rare MV , looks pretty complete , does it have a PTO generator welder ?? also looks like it has a fender heater . Nice find . That might also be the LINESMEN truck . Welcome to the site .
Static display only , I was told by a Vietnam Vet who used one in country that it required about 250 amps to fire up and 50 amps to run in his M37 !!! Just running on batteries they would last about 4 hours . That complete unit must about 150 lbs !!! we have come a long way !!!!
The chain thru the wheel works , just use a heavy chain and make a few loops Air it ip and let it sit for a day or so , just to make sure it holds air , easier to fix now then when it's on the truck . stay safe BK:tank:
I went the other route , took the wheels off , picked them up with the John Deere , put them on my trailer and took them and the new tires to the tire shop in town . He does HD equipment tires and had them all done in a day with new o rings . Easier on my old body . I also picked up a tire...
I spoke with him and he did not see a GRC19 in a 151 , he was AF and that GRC19 was installed in a M37 . He said the unit would run on the MV batteries for about 2 hours without the MV running ,
No , not a working unit , missing s few tubes , but at the time a state of the art unit . One of our club members used one in Vietnam and said it took about 250 amps to get it up and running and and would use about 50 amps on standby !!!
