Considering that it was sitting in a field by the old steel plant in WNY for YEARS it sounds and looks pretty good . They didn't get used much , just some in the winter to break ice in the river in winter . And yes they are BIG in person , the top of the track has got to be 6-7 Feet off the...
NOPE . 24 volt is a good thing , don't be afraid of the system . It is a pretty basic system and parts are pretty easy to come by . With it sitting for a year ,if that is true , your carb may be ok , just drain the old fuel put in fresh fuel and see what happens . Charge the batteries (2) under...
Bill , given everything $5000 is a good price IMHO . Needs a little TLC in the engine compartment , but if it runs , drives and shifts OK , I would go for it . All you need is the Jeep trailer !!!
The prices are all over the map . That looks like a pretty complete rig , Ride and Drive as they say . If it smokes , figure some engine repairs down the line . How is the rest of the drive line ??? Was it overhauled recently ??? Is it still 24 Volt ???? You have to treat this like any other...

A Big Thank's to everybody for the help !!!!!:D yes , we may need a few pictures and or info to get this thing up and running . I will keep everybody posted on the build . Can not wait to see this light lit up , should get the attention of the local LEO's or Homeland security !!!! LOL
It is a amazing unit for WWII , Lots of ways to control the operation ( rotation and elevation ) of the light . Basicly a welder generator on steroids . The plan is to keep the unit as is on the two trailers . There is a LOT of small electrical items to take care of on both units , but most of...
yes it is a GE , The Glass And Mirror is in pretty good shape . We pulled the head and freed up the valves , engine has very little use and runs very well , got everything cleaned and painted . We are at the stage of trying to put all the pieces together and see what happens !!! LOL thank you...

My family in NW Alabama says they have never seen it this dry . My brother is the local VFD chief and they have been busy with fires and keeping them in check . They have been lucky as no structures have been lost . The state has banned outside fires of any kind , but it doesn't seem to stop...

How are you planning to get the truck inspected ???? IN good old NYS you will have to get it Safety AND Emission inspected being as you live downstate on the island . I would fix the P brake for all the above reasons and to be honest in the general scheme of things it is not that big a deal to...
