If it was sold on a scrap sale it isn't supposed to ever be sold for it's intended purpose or have parts culled from it. I would recommend not buying it as you will likely not have a way of titling it and may be force to scrap it thus losing thousands of dollars in the process. Buy from someone...
I have one of these. A bit pricey but makes easy work of it and as a mechanic I wrote it off as job expenses.

Northern Utah would make for a very central location for the west being near equal distance from all directions around it. But hay, if the opening bids are no longer $25 and no reserve most of us will be done buying surplus anyway at which point location is irrelivent.
Got the winch itself mounted a couple weeks ago and last Saturday (11/24) I got all the hydraulics plumbed and installed. Found out I was missing the front control cable bracket and need to make one before I can install the cable, but that is all that is left to do for the winch. I was able to...

Began the winch installation on the HEMTT today. Got all 4 cable rollers installed with some help from a friend. Next week end I will try to mount the winch and start running hoses. Before I do the actual hydraulic connections I need a clean 55 gal. drum to drain the tank into. I will post more...
A friend of mine has a 478 in his garage he is going to give to another friend for a rat rod project. It only needs crank bearings due to the rear one being cracked.
