HMMWV and H1 Hummer do NOT have the same drive train. TH400 without park vs. 4l80e, AWD T case vs 4WD T case. There is more but these are the big ones.
FYI, that M200A1 trailer the genset is on is equipped with air over hydraulic brakes and I can guarantee they are non-functional in that photo. Hopefully he only kills himself.
11.00R20s as duals on the rear will give a much more stable ride than any super singles. They are approx. the same height as the 365s and are very abundant out there for sale with an average about $125-150 each with wheels.
I can point you to an 8V92 with 10K on it if you want to go bigger. You may be able to get it for $2500 and it is complete. Former M977 HEMTT power plant. They have the axles, trans and t-case too.
I have a simple philosophy about my MVs, if it isn't broke don't fix it. Now, if I lose a trans and have it rebuilt I may change over to a "Trans " fluid. But until then, if ever, I will run what came in it as I don't see the expense of changing it to be any advantage. I have discussed this with...
I run Delo 100 40wt in my M985 engine and will stay with what is in the trans from the military for 2 reasons, the trans is wear conditioned to the 15w40 or 10 wt that is in there and the engine oil handles higher temps better. I have seen 220 on trans on paved roads running hills. I don't 100%...
I have a used T/S switch and flasher. Is your switch in the column or attached to the outside? I have both and they are not the same standard switch found in most MVs. PM me if interested.
If ALL of the lighting on your truck is LED style you will likely never have a problem as the current draw is a LOT lower than the standard incondescent lights.
Did you have to do an EUC on the MK48 when you purchased it? I say go ahead and file for the SF97, they are not recalling/buy back the trucks. When the demill changed the trucks that were not picked up were kept and buyers refunded but no one who already owns one or had it in their possession...
Thanks to everyone who voted. All the MVs are sweet rides so keep trying, as it may take time to become MV of the month. I think I have tried 7-8 times. Thanks again.
Here is an example of the WD40 treatment of CARC. I was amazed at the change.
Before, very chalky look to the CARC.
After and looks almost like fresh paint. I have been told Baby oil does this too.
I have found that the 5400lbs crane is very useful. Never knew I needed a crane until I had one to use, and I use it far more than I ever thought I would.
Loaded and Hauled a '59 Nash Metropolitan for a friend. Of course that didn't come close to the cranes abilities.
Flag display is always a...
