The Saturn upgrade is the same thing you can get from anyplace that carries trico wipers. The tech article pictures did not come up.

Putting a non isolated ground alt on a cucv will not send 24 volt into the 12 volt stuff. It will cause the 12 volt circuit to short to ground at the alternator. If you attach the batteries after putting on the alt then you will get sparks at the battery and probably blow it up. If you connect...
The main problem with starting fluid has to do with the glow plugs. If the glow plugs are disabled and I mean you better be sure they are disabled, then a small amount of starting fluid is fine. You are much better off using pure silicone spray instead of starter fluid. If the starter fluids...
I say again, are you doing this with the key on or off?
For some reason, I have found that when the key is off you get power to the blue wire and if you ground the other terminal the relays closes. When the key is on the power goes away on the blue wire and the other terminal gets power thus...
Contact TedG. He has one that he just built and it is sweet. He may be persuaded to sell it for enough money but it would not be cheap. The thing is cherry and has the 6.5 TD engine. I can't remember the M designation for his but I will try to find a thread on his build. He may not want to sell...
Did you have the key in the on position when you grounded the blue terminal? If you did not then you did not have positive to the relay and it should not have worked. IIRC when the ignition switch is off it will actuate when you apply power to the blue wire. I don't think anything is wrong with...
The M1009 came with the pintle hitch so no holes will be required. I know the piece you are talking about. You need the one that uses the four bolts to mount it to the plate that takes the place of the license plate, right? If so I will check my junkvee and if I have it I will let you know. It...
I don't think there is a backing plate unless Chevy reinforced the are from the factory. From what it looks like when they are pulled out I don't think it is reinforced. The nutserts are rivet style and I would check a local fastener store for them. The tool can be gotten at harbor freight.
One thing that might be keeping the tailgate from opening is the window situation. The window has to be all the way down before the tailgate will open. The is a lever inside that is actuated when the window is down that unlocks the tailgate so it will open. If someone appropriated the window...
A little more to add to dogheads rebuttal. The resister will not drop voltage until it has a load. The load of a volt meter is not enough. The combined load of all 8 glow plugs will drop the voltage down to about 12 volts and it takes a second or two for the voltage to drop. This is the problem...
We had panel markers on the hood. We wanted to be seen. We could have been driving florescent pink trucks and result would have been the same. In fact, the panel markers were florescent pink. A battery in our battalion took an adjust round from an Iraqi field artillery battery. We had radar...
I just got done with pulling the heads off when two of the swollen plugs broke off. Try the swollen plug removal tool first. As stated earlier, all the plugs have to be working or the extra voltage will kill the rest. At least you know exactly what your problem is now.
Sounds like he did not know what the isolated ground was. Ask him about it. If he looks at you with a blank look take the alternators to another place to have them checked by someone that understands what an isolated ground is.
If the plugs pass both the light test and the ohm test then I say don't replace them. The 60Gs are pretty good and if you have them on hand you might want to swap them out then test the old ones on the bench for ohms. The 60G plugs have a wider spade so you either need to trim them down to fit...
Replace the relay as some have already said. For those that have this happen a sharp hit to the area under the dash under where the relay is located will sometimes get it unstuck. If you cant get it with a couple of hits start pulling the wires out of the solenoid before it takes out the...
Call 262-244-1262 ask for part number 12471725, $49.99 complete base including filter in original GM box and marked CUCV as well. This is plug and play, no swapping out parts
From another post by another member. They are now $54.99 with $12 shipping.
