Help. Need glow plug removal tool cucv

I put in some wellman G070 glow plugs in the cucv and they immediatelly swelled and stopped working. I will have to check to make sure the resistor did not fail but in the mean time I need to get the other plugs out. Does anyone have a glow plug removal tool I could rent or borrow? If not I will...

    Looking for RT-524

I have never heard a bad thing about him and I have heard a lot about him. Never personally bought anything from him but if you want a working radio I hear he is the guy to buy from. I do not think you will have any problem.

Finally starting the M151A1 restoration PICS

Next installment. My work today was cut short. I had help my son fix my cucv M1009 that he drives. There were some dash lights out. It was also hard starting also so I tried checking the glow plugs. The connectors were so rusted a couple broke off at the glow plug. This led to changing out all...

    Need some advice

Just to be clear. The glow plugs on the cucv are 12 volt glow plugs. The large resister on the firewall drops the 24 volt input down to 12 volts for the glow plugs. As already stated in the thread, the connector is different between the civy glow plugs and the military cucv plugs but they are...

    1st Deuce Project Begins

Looks good. How did you strip the frame? Looks too clean to be the needle scaler but not clean enough to be sanding.

How much would you bid on an M819?

Does not run, no title obvious body damage and plenty of rust, sat for 10 years. Your right. How could I have overlooked those good points. **** I got a cucv with a bent frame, no axles, parted out engine and no doors to sell you. It is the best cucv you will ever see. You really think my...

    Lockers on M818?

The way to check for a locker is to raise one side off the ground while the other side is on the ground firmly. With the transmission in gear (engine off) try to spin the tire in the air while the grounded tire is stationary and the drive shaft is not moving. If the wheel spins the diff is open...

How much would you bid on an M819?

I see both are closed. Did you guys get one? I think they are worth it for the money they went for. Not the best but a good budget wrecker. Like Gimp pointed out to me, the boom on the 819 is longer than the 816 but you do loose the rear recovery winch. The fifth wheel is pretty nice to have.

    m151 locking differential

Google just came up with the following link. M151 locker It is a suzuki locker modified to fit in the M151 diff. The web page gives an email address for any questions.

    m151 locking differential

Never seen or heard of a locker for the M151 diffs. You might try G838 and ask. The site is devoted to the M151.

    Warn locking hubs or Stock

Standard Warn hubs are still available. I got some about a year ago at my local parts store. The only difference was they were quarter turn instead of the 3/4 turn on the old ones. By 1/4 turn I mean you only turn them 1/4 turn to engage and disengage them unlike the older ones the require...

    Series Battery Problems

The series circuit connection is on the terminals. The terminals can have a bad connection to the battery and the integrity of the series connection is still not compromised. Do I think it is likely? No, but I see no other way for this to happen without a 12 volt draw or a bad battery. I would...

    Series Battery Problems

I would clean up the terminals and check check all the connections. I am leaning towards bad terminals but your problem does not make too much sense from an electrical standpoint. The only thing I can think of is bad connection between the terminal and the rear battery.

Need blacked out copy of SF-97 for clueless DMV

I am lucky enough to have a local Secretary of State (like the state DMV) that understands the process. I have gotten my trucks titles both with the SF-97 and without. I got my M818 titles without a SF-97 by going the bonded title route. No bond was needed based on the sales price of the truck...

    International Title Service. Any problems?

This does not have anything to do with military vehicles. It has to do with states getting wise to what they are doing. The attempt to circumvent legitimate ways to get a title by using the same methods car thieves to to get "legit" titles for stolen vehicles. Sorry. In my rant against the...
