Considering a M927 or M928 to live in...

To add further, yes, I would definitely consider a composting toilet if I can find one that works really well and doesn't need a lot of maintenance on a daily, hourly kind of basis. As for the no girlfriend sleepover thing, well, I'm happy being single and any girlfriend would have to be willing...

Buffalobwana, yeah, you bring up some excellent points: If grid power is close or I could get a temporary service, you bet I'd plug right in. The generator would be strictly for if I had to go somewhere that didn't have that option. Yes, the sound of a generator can definitely get old, but I've...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

BhpBrad, you just gave me an idea for the M927 tiny home I'm planning on doing should I ever add a winch, which I'd like to.

I'm really thinking the S280 is the way to go then; it'll also fit in the 923 if I don't get the 927. Need ideas for S280 interior remodels, anyone else who made one living quarters care to chime in?

OK, so pardon my ignorance on S280s but do they already have provisions for said tie downs? Could I use the outside bec tie downs or would I need to fabricate my own?

I've also heard of the S280 on a 923 bed before too and have considered going that route, either with the 923 I also have a line on or in the 927, so I'd have some bec space left for cargo as well, or a "porch", depending on how you think of it I guess. Thoughts on making it not slide...

I have another idea too thanks to someone on one of the M939 Facebook groups: Bolt up the tailgate solid, for 18" or so more of floor space. That still doesn't solve the lifting-the-box-out issue though... With the tailgate like that I may also consider doing this on a M923A0 I have a line on...

Considering a M927 or M928 to live in...

Pardon my ignorance, but do I need a correspondingly high cargo cover to fit the high bow kit? Because that would definitely be the preferable option for my situation I think.

Now I'm thinking of maybe building the structure on I beams for skids? Thoughts? It would raise the height but I could use that to insulate between that and the cold steel bed floor. In the meantime as soon as I get the truck, I can't wait to camp in the bed during the recovery.

Considering a M927 or M928 to live in...

What if I did aluminum frame? Stronger but lightweight? I'm thinking my other option would be an M146 trailer, take off the 927 bed and put the M146 box on, ideas? Another idea, somehow make it so the stock bows and cargo cover fit over the habitat so the truck looks stock. I have a line on a...

Changing out the coolant on the NHC250

Interesting information! So, say, could an '82 or '83 M923 be on an M813 frame/chassis?

Changing out the coolant on the NHC250

Keep us posted Ken! I saw your latest 4 updates on YouTube, great videos! Re: the 50 year old rubber, the 939's are more like only 25-25 years old, but yeah, I know what you mean. Still before some of us younger enthusiasts (like myself) were even born...

Changing out the coolant on the NHC250

Think it'll be any easier of a fix this time? I've been following your videos of rebuilding the one motor on YouTube, lest I ever have to do this in the truck I have a line on ('84 M923).
