    Stereo Installed in M923A2

I like it. Being basically bonded to the metal frame should likely increase the antenna gain too. Seeing the stereo, this truck your daily driver?

    Stereo Installed in M923A2

I like it! I, too, would like to put a radio in my M923 I'm getting, especially since if I can I'd more or less daily drive it. Where's the antenna for the radio?

New Member Been Interesting in Ownership for some time now

Welcome to Steel Soldiers, good luck in your search! I, too, am hopefully acquiring an M923 by year's end to enjoy to the fullest and, frankly, if I can, daily drive.

    Daily Deuce

Interesting. I can relate to the OP, I was determined I'd own a Deuce as my first vehicle. (I still would). I almost bought one this past September; a '68 M35A2. only thing that stopped me was not being fully licensed so I wouldn't have been able to get it insured. At another, previous...

Alaska : looking meet other members.

71DeuceAK checking in here from Fairbanks. Formerly from Southeast. Should be picking up an '84 M923 from CA from a friend there, who used to be stationed at Ft. Wainwright just outside Fairbanks in the early '70s. Always up for getting together with other Deuce or 5 ton owners, hit me up...

What hard tops will fit on the 939 series 5 tons?

For yours, probably about 1983, that's when the M939 series started. An M809 or Deuce hard top won't fit- the cabs weren't as wide.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Haha, I'm used to dealing with rusty tanks in marine environments where fuel filters plugged up routinely, NASTY stuff draining those off.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Wes, I'm just curious as a newbie, isn't it not always necessarily a "bad" thing having poor pickup? I'd think it could alleviate sucking sediment/junk into your filters, it would naturally settle to the bottom of the tank and stay there. Of course I'm sure a rough drive on a dirt road could...

Heartfelt Thanks to John M, "98G" for Outstanding Transportation Svs!!!!!

He's helped me as well, great guy. Walked me through the process of buying an M939 at auction and even looked at the listing for the one I was bidding on and was able to suggest what to be prepared to fix. Definitely helped me quite a bit!

    Bought me a M923A2 Today!!!

Congrats on the new acquisition, fine looking truck! Yeah, the odometer reading is often really nothing, they got swapped all the time, especially if a new engine was put in, I've talked to ex motor pool guys who remember seeing M939s on their FIFTH engine, no joke! I might be picking up one...
