Hi Eric. Welcome to the site! I'm glad you are enjoying your 900-series trucks and your HMMWV. I've always been a big fan of both of them! Keep us posted on your projects.
Chris
Here are a couple of pics from yesterday. Had to replace a busted headlight and a rotted hood latch. Good thing I had a spare latch in my old pile of HMMWV parts. I was going to install my spare LED headlights, but it turns out they're not multi-volt.

I picked up a 1997 Hummer H1 HMCO (4-door, open-top) over the weekend to be used as my new daily driver. I really missed my Cummins HMMWV after I sold it to TedG a few years ago and have been wanting one ever since. While the H1 is not officially a military variant, it shares enough of the...
Thanks for all the hard work, Drew. I am certainly glad to be bidding farewell to our old box. It served us well for a while, but this VM will certainly up the reliability and expandability!
LOL, people are always surprised that I work on my own vehicles, mow my own grass, do home remodeling, weld, etc... It's really fun to see the looks on the oil patch guys when I start talking about my days working on drilling rigs, stringing pipe and hauling drip gas. Most docs I know don't...
Finally got some spare time to mount my spare tire on my last 24-bolt rim. It is always fun wrestling those things in place. Not as bad as mounting a 14R20, but fun nonetheless.
Here's all the parts laid out.
The PVC beadlock insert stuffed between the beads.

Thanks! It sure is an enduring project. Not sure if it will ever be "done!" My tire showed up at the office today, so I'll be getting it mounted on the wheel soon.
Took a few pics of my rear bumper with the tire/can carriers mounted and thought I would share them. I like the setup overall. I am waiting on my spare tire to arrive from militaryoffroadtires.net so I can get it mounted on another 24-bolt wheel and get it hung on the back. Hopefully, John...
I'll be sure to take lots of pics and post up a good summary once the project is complete. I decided against the NV4500 because of the shift lever issue and I like driving an auto better off-road and on-road in these hills and mountains.
Thanks for the compliment on the pics. There are two test ports on the passenger side of the trans. One can be used for the OD and one for the TC. I will install a gauge and watch the pressure and the speedo. I may put a tach in too so I can watch the RPM's. Then, I can decide on the MPH when I...
Hi Todd,
Trans should be good for 900 lb/ft or more depending on how it's driven. I'm going to use Hobbs pressure switches from PATC to control OD and lock-up. I'll also have a lock-up switch in my shift knob and a OD Off switch in the dash.
Steel planetary gears f/r, billet servos, extra clutches, performance VB, single disc TC, deeper 48re pan. Should be good for 400-450hp. Anything more than that I will have to go with billet input/output, triple disc, etc...
I finally got the passenger side 3-point seatbelt finished so I could take my oldest boy for a ride. We went out on some old logging and mining roads yesterday afternoon and he had a blast. The HMMWV performed flawlessly.
Next on the to-do list is installing the rear 3-point belts and...
Thanks. It is really loud right now because the engine cover has a huge hole in it where I clearanced it to fit the taller engine and it is running 2400-2500 rpm because I haven't put my OD trans in yet. I have a built 47rh trans sitting in the garage waiting to be swapped it. That will really...
