    In-tank fuel pump anatomy

I have also completely cleaned all the internal parts, terminals and connectors under the fuse cap, as well as stripped and repainted the fuse cap itself.

    In-tank fuel pump anatomy

Ok, I've pretty much figured this out. Hopefully this helps someone else in their endeavors. To get to the wire, you have to cut off the aluminum clamp ring where the braided wire hose meets the fitting. The braided hose then slides back (it stretches and contracts) exposing the wire. The...

    In-tank fuel pump anatomy

Need help. I have read thru most, if not all, of the threads on the in-tank pump, however none cover this specific question. I have removed the pump from the tank and cleaned it up. The metal braided wire goes up from the pump, up into and thru the bottom of the cover plate and attaches to the...

New-Style (Short) Airpack Teardown & Repair with Photos

Outstanding information! Thank you, came in handy as I just completed my short style rebuild. I too have the mystery o-ring. Only thing I missed and am worried about is I lubed the entire thing with air tool oil. Everything. Now I'm worried about having to take it apart and redo with DOT5...

    Short Airpack Redux

This is awesome! Thanks! I just did a complete rebuild of my short style air pack. I have a question and am wondering if I did something that will result in me disassembling the Airpack again or if it should be ok to just let it slide. After completely cleaning everything, I lubed everything...

    Deuce Outer Windshield Frame

So all snapped off bolts have been drilled, tapped and replaced with new stainless steel bolts. What was left of the broken rivets/heads were drilled out and replaced with new stainless steel 3/16” diameter x 3/8” grip rivets. All good, primed and ready to paint.

Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

For those using Behr paint, has anyone painted their exhaust stack with it? I'm curious as to how the latex paint reacts to extreme heat, i.e. does it hold up, turn gooey, melt off? I'm ready to paint my stack but wondering what will happen. Thanks.

    Deuce Outer Windshield Frame

Current situation, hopefully this helps someone else. So, pitpawten you are correct, there are two steel thread bars riveted to the inside bottom of the top frame channel, one on each side. The rivets on mine had rusted/rotted on one side and partially on the other, which meant the bar on one...

    Deuce Outer Windshield Frame

That is very kind of you sir, thank you so much. What would the shipping cost be to 21797 area code? I see Pitpawten is in need also, I am going to try to use a scope camera and see if I can fish the thread bar into place and snag with bolts and re-rivet in place to make mine work. If I can...

    Windshield question

Is an M37 outer frame the same as/fit a M35a2?

    Deuce Outer Windshield Frame

I'm thinking the same thing. Other than this particular issue, overall, the frame itself is in pretty good shape with no significant rust as I have taken it down to bare steel. The rubber gasket under the frame was toast and the rectangular rubber plugs that screw into the bottom of each side...

    Deuce Outer Windshield Frame

Thank for the information, I emailed Adirondack to see. The one I have is usable if I can figure out the "inner" design and makeup of the frame.

    Deuce Outer Windshield Frame

Currently restoring '68 M35a2 with a soft top. Have removed about 4 layers of paint, primer and rust from the outer windshield frame, which really isn't all that bad considering. My question is this, the frame appears to be several pieces put together, however they are all welded together and...

Fuel tank / tool box brackets

While disassembling and stripping for paint the heavy steel L brackets that bolt to the frame and support/hold the fuel tank and tool box, I noticed the mating surfaces of the brackets were lined with what appears to be a thin webbing strip. I'm guessing this was used to prevent vibration and...

    Behr paint test.

I'm doing a full frame off restoration on a '68 Deuce. I have found the Behr Marquee I am using very soft, dings easily even up to two weeks after painting. I'm assuming it will take the full 8 weeks to harden properly and getting the painted parts out in the sun to cure for full durability...

Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

So now that the truck has been completely reduced to a pile of parts for complete frame off restoration on my '68 Deuce, I've finally gotten around to the cab. The cab on my truck was galvanized and the original military primer they initially used had a reaction to it, turned to a chalk like...

    Air tanks lined?

Update. I scoped the other tank. It's nasty inside but looks more caked/solid than broken pieces. The bottom around the drain orientation looks like chicken pox, and I have no idea what that giant piece of red bar is in two of the pictures, possibly solidified gunk of some sort. I think...

    Air tanks lined?

So, I am perplexed. I did a scope camera inspection of the interior of the tank. Looks like your standard aging rust etc. It also looks like the interior of the tank was painted green at one time (didn't know they painted the inside). Have no idea where this waxy looking stuff has come from...

    Air tanks lined?

Great idea! I actually have one of those HD See scopes, thanks for reminding me, I'll check them tonight.

    Air tanks lined?

Thank you, that was my thought as well regarding blockages. I'm a bit leery of reusing these for fear of some more of that stuff breaking off and going somewhere throughout the system so not sure if I should invest in a NOS set or try the acid and see what happens. I've never seen anything...
