@MGKMartin I know this was a long time ago (didn't want to start a new thread and I can't message you for some reason) but do you have a build thread or any info on doing this.
Was it pretty straight forward?
I don't know the terminology but the area behind the spare tire that looks like a deck...
Thanks!
I imagine as long as it's not for profit, I should be good here in CO. Hope to find out more tomorrow. Was nervous on registering it with an LLC and having it looked at as commercial.
Did you need to get a CDL?
Chatting with my agent tomorrow about this. I'm also curious in having it registered to a Montana LLC (if I go that route) and having a CO insurance agent? 🤷🏽♂️
How are you insuring your vehicle? Commercially or private/personal?
From what I've read, LMTV/FMTVMTV need a CDL for commercial but not personal, if I've read correctly.
I know we can register to an LLC in Montana. Curious on insurance.
Thanks for the update! 3.07's with the 3116 and the Ecos is what I was waiting to hear about.
@Ovrlnd1 did you go with these yet? I'm curious about elevation and off-road as well
I appreciate the info!
It’s a 98 (3116).
Went back and forth with the 3116 and 3126. May get a 3126 someday.
I was nervous about the Unimog’s portal axles as this is an expedition build so hwy miles and 60/65 speeds will happen. It’s good to hear yours with a camper can do that all day...
tennmogger, I appreciate the info. I’m picking up an M1078 next week but always loved Unimogs. It’s good to hear from someone who has both.
Would you ever do Eco Hubs on the truck in conjunction with 3.07 gears?
Do you like the LMTV better for camping/travel? Whats your opinion on off-roading the LMTV to remote camping and the on-road manners to get the trailhead vs the Mog?
