Put the #17 in, you'll be happy with the results and shouldn't have any issues. Just watch your temps. I've been running my turbo 250 for probably 2 years now without issue and I tow heavy too. I upped the RPM to 2300, lower fuel button (#20 I think), dual fuel mod and no inter or after cooler.
The easy method is to just swap the turbo parts over and do the dual fuel mod. I run mine at 335 spec and tow heavy with no issues. So how does the wrecker pull now with big cam power? Are you going to turn it up more?
On one truck I have a 24v to 12v converter. On another I run a separate 12v system (additional alt and battery) and use relays to convert signals from 24v to 12v.
I'll be picking up a tractor (New International ProStar) from Salt Lake City Utah and Driving back to Tacoma, Wa via Boise and Coeur d'alene. I can tow a 5th wheel or have deck space for larger/heavy items (260" wheel base day cab).
The chevy is in the DMV system. A military vehicle, unless someone got an sf97 and registered it, isn't. Nothing will show up so technically there isn't a title to be "lost" because it doesn't exist.
Anyone pushing this still? I have a few trucks that would love lockers. I bet if you contacted a few of the big MV dealers or mud truck sites that specialize in rockwells and they all committed to purchase 10 or 15 each for stock, you'd easily hit over 50....
