Special TQG items are getting pricey!

I work for a company in the electrical interconnections industry. Parts like this with low volumes are getting discontinued by us and others. Milspec parts which have not been ordered in 20 years are suddenly coming in on RFQ. FU pricing going out on a lot of these quotes and orders coming in...

Amount of oil draining through rear drive axle tube

Probably most of those videos the keyway seal and/or other seals went bad and the hub is filled with GO. If everything is perfect there should not be so much in there when you open it up.

M998 STUCK IN THE MUD, FRONT WHEELS NOT EVEN ROTATING

Ah Ok. Used to roam around those fire roads and run road rallies down your way back 10 years ago. Running on trails alone far from roads with no winch and no one to call...must be careful. FJ Cruiser - never got into something I could not get out of thankfully. Glad you found the root of...

Putting IP back in and Timing Refresher

It is hard to add to this in a way that is very helpful. However, couple years back I had the HH off and after reinstallation I could not get the truck to start. Checked all the timing, everything. It was making me pull my hair out. In the end the problem was that the electrical connection to...

    LMTV FMTV Exhaust Brake Questions?

I have seen buses with extra yellow lights that come on with the exhaust brake. Nice feature for other drivers that are aware enough to know what that means. Never saw it on a truck before. Probably because most pull standardized trailers that would not have this lighting.

Brake fluid shooting out of remote reservoir?

I found that with the giant lock washers the nuts did not have to be made super tight for the application. Used an open end wrench on them all; seemed to be OK. Offset box might work and be better if you can find one that fits.

Wow that airdrop information is interesting.

Army Corps of Engineers 1963 D6B Caterpillar Bulldozer

Machines look great. Tracks adjusted nicely too. Don't always see that. Good luck with it. 955 is my favorite track loader.

    Deuce, active service (archive pictures).

Incredible the amounts of material and equipment that has to be transported to keep military units functioning.

M35A2 Hose Hanging On Side Of Axle

It is the crankcase pressure relief. Normally when running you will see some steam coming out of there. Black slime too. If the engine has a lot of blowby you will see more. Technical term is slobber tube.

    Wide load

I am impressed you did all that to get the job done. Nice work. Sounds good too.

    Wide load

Amazing I never would have thought it could be done on the pintle like that. What is on your hood in that last photo?

    Cylinder Head differences

I could only speculate but I am curious what it could be for as well. I hope someone knows more. Hard to believe they would cause any harm though if they were off a previously functioning engine.

    KIA KM450

I love it. Why reinvent the wheel? These trucks were simple to build and maintain. Sometimes I am surprised at how technological the equipment has become in the US inventory.

Army Corps of Engineers 1963 D6B Caterpillar Bulldozer

In general clearing of brush and building bush roads in rough country the cable operated blade can normally be lowered further down than a hydraulic blade. The big trade off is no hydraulic down pressure. Reading my excavating handbook gave me this information.

    Autodesk Fusion 360

It is the best and lowest cost CAD and CAM package that I am aware of. There are others but not as good as the real thing in my opinion. Commercial ACAD package is not really that costly considering what you get for the money. If you have use for it.

    Autodesk Fusion 360

It comes with the AutoCAD Mechanical package and when we purchased out first real CNC mill with a tool changer we started using it. For 3 axis it works fine and that is all we really do anyway. Barely any 3D milling all holes and 2D milling. But for the price of basically free if you are already...
