I thought I was going to get this job done with the slide hammer but no success. I was slamming that thing as hard as my hands could tolerate and it didn’t even consider moving. I would still be working but the sun went down on me.
I think tomorrow I will try a different approach because my...
For those of you that regularly check your hub temps what are you seeing. I am in the process of replacing all of my seals/boots and packing the bearings and want to know what is normal when I am done. I did not monitor temps before service but I do know that one of my hubs was noticeably warmer...

These are the 2 most used performance dampers I know of. I wonder if they would make one to fit our trucks. they would probably want a cad drawing for actual size specs and I have no clue how to do that.
Honestly it was so tight that I don’t think it would’ve been possible to get a firm enough grip on it. Even with the heat wrench I just don’t see how I could’ve gripped it well enough to turn it. In this situation I honestly believe that drilling the stud was my only option. If you look at the...
These trucks are known to start well even in cold temps. What I am trying to say is you may not need the heater. If you do not need to rely on the truck to start every time I would say it may be worth testing it out this winter and seeing if you really need one or not.
Thanks I would have tried that but no cutting torch in my garage yet. That is a tool that is on the list of want to buy but can’t justify the cost at this time.
So I broke a budd nut while removing the wheels off the rear axles. I am not totally sure that I understand why it broke but at this point I guess it doesn’t matter why. At first I tried to save the stud by drilling the budd and then I was going to attempt to split it in half. This idea was a...
Thanks for the response but that is a little farther than I want to drive at this time. I am looking in to bald eagle state forest at the moment . There seems to be lots of trails there that the Jeep community uses. I want to enjoy some slow paced relaxing drives on scenic trails. I am not...
engine rpm is widely debated and what I have decided to follow as my rule may never be acceptable to others. Governed engines like the multifuel, almost any diesel, tractors, small engines, generators, and any type of industrial engine have a pre set (governed) rpm limit. This limit is not the...
Honestly unless it looks worse in person that doesn’t look all that bad to me. Looks like just some surface rust that can be cleaned and treated without any disassembly.
I agree on the better video. Give us a chance to hear it with the hood up and from multiple angles around the engine.
possible causes but not limited to
1 injector stuck closed/plugged up
2 head gasket issue
3 compression loss (broken valve spring)?
It is easy to pull the rocker cover and check...
