    Suggestions on Tires:

I'm going to second the suggestion to change to 395's. That said, I have two 14.00 XZLs on 5ton combat rims. Good tread, old date codes. Located in KS. I'll send you a PM.

KS 10kW auxiliary power unit for Field Artillery Ammunition Support Vehicles. 51 hours

I took this in trade on a safe sale. The guy had three of them identical, stored inside. Now you know what I know about it. I haven't done anything at all to it other than unload it. It'll be stored tarped so it won't be getting rained on. It's pictured sitting on a defunct drawer safe that's...

MEP802 on the House. What's going on here...

Fluke meter and kill a watt are on the list. When I get them I'll run it again and update this thread with more and better data. It may be a bit as I've got multiple demands and I'm getting pulled several directions at once. Thank you everyone for the enlightenment.

MEP802 on the House. What's going on here...

Yeah, someone saw fit to remove it. I found a sticky square area . I'm going with the idea that the AC is just way too much for the genset. I just expected a different failure modality. I've overloaded an 802 with my plasma cutter and it simply fell on its face.

MEP802 on the House. What's going on here...

I've been using the twin to the one you got from me. No worries with capacity there. But I grabbed several of the 802's and wanted to see just how much load balancing would be needed.

MEP802 on the House. What's going on here...

I'll have a look tomorrow and see if I can find a data plate on it.

MEP802 on the House. What's going on here...

Only with the onboard gauge. I'll get a meter and get after it at the box in the basement and see what we're seeing in the house. I'm still not really understanding why the 40 amp breaker didn't trip.

MEP802 on the House. What's going on here...

I cut the AC fan immediately. My philosophy is anything I don't understand is dangerous until I do. Transfer switch is preexisting with the house. Not my inexpert tampering. Electrician redid all of the wiring to include new breaker box in 2020. The house is all new wiring. The AC is new as...

MEP802 on the House. What's going on here...

I thought the same. I'd expect the breaker to pop rather than what I'm seeing.

MEP802 on the House. What's going on here...

I honestly didn't expect it to run the AC. I expected it to overload and shut off. What I'm seeing isn't what I expected to see. And yeah, AC is nonessential. Refrigerator and lighting during the summer months, and lighting and furnace blower during the winter months and I'd consider it...

MEP802 on the House. What's going on here...

Turntable on the microwave, and outdoor cooling fan on the AC unit turning slowly.

MEP802 on the House. What's going on here...

15' of 6/4 cable going into the transfer switch and the breaker on the power pole that feeds the house. From the pole to the house it's the same thing that grid power uses, whatever that is. #6 AWG should not be the weakest link.

MEP802 on the House. What's going on here...

I've got an 802 and hooked it up to the house. Manual transfer switch. 50 amp 14 50 NEMA plug, 40 amp breaker. 6/4 copper cable. Red and black to legs 1 and 3, green to ground, white to neutral. Phase and voltage set to 120/240 single phase. Power on, contactor closed, switch the house to...

That's the one I have. I like it a LOT. I thank you for the TM!

    20kw Generator

I can't imagine needing that much genset. I have one that size (23kW). I can run my welder and my plasma cutter both wide open at the same time, 3 guys using grinders, and still have enough left over to power my entire house. Do you plan to run your oven, your dryer, your water heater, your...

    m35a2 driver seat

"The first step of any quality repair job is to just sit and stare at it like a moron for a while." It's someone's signature. I'll remember exactly whose about 0300 when I'm dead asleep.

Driver of HMMWV dead after accident...

Emphatically this! No safety device will ever take the place of careful and competent operation. Frequently "safety" devices will cause more problems than they prevent, especially if you get used to them being there and then suddenly they aren't.
