Unloading an M1082 - Caging Bolts and other unloading strategies

Post a link to your auction and I'll dig through the pics. I'll also go find you a link for cage bolts . Brb Edit - these are the correct bolt, but the price is about 2x to the high side. https://midwestmilitaryequipment.com/caging-bolt-for-lmtv-mtv-fm

Any issues with running old surplus 37’s

The place in WI was probably Feltz tire. More pressure might have taken stress off the sidewalls.

Any issues with running old surplus 37’s

I've blown a 14.00 (48") at highway speeds more than once without run flats. And 11.00s also (42"). It's not as big of a deal as you'd think.

Any issues with running old surplus 37’s

I've got date code 2003 Goodyear D range tires on mine. 50psi. I've driven them a lot, including a trip from KS to FL and back.

What do i need to know to install a winch?

I've got a garden variety 2dr soft top M998. I've also got the pictured mile marker hydraulic winch and mounting plate. Presumably I need a couple of hydraulic hoses. What else? Are there instructions somewhere in the TM for how to install?

Am I getting a good deal?

Mine's a 6.2 3L80, nothing at all special about it, and I wouldn't consider taking $10k for it, even if I were hurting for funds. I've also driven mine all over the country (AZ, TX, NM, LA, OK, NE, WY, IA, SD, KS, MO, IL, FL, AL, GA, TN, KY, more than once) without issue. Everything works. I...

New Member in Fort Worth, TX - What did I miss?

A little rough. A little dirty. So clean it up and put a coat of 383 green behr house paint on it. I don't see any major problems. Looks to me like you got a screaming deal.

    8.3 liter valve cover gasket

No, I ordered a new gasket and replaced it in its entirety. I decided a pre-made gasket would be an easier install with less chance of a leak under the constraints I was working with. Thank you to everyone who contributed knowledge to the decision making process.

    8.3 liter valve cover gasket

And it's all back together, no longer leaking, and delivered to the customer.

    8.3 liter valve cover gasket

I couldn't. So I drained some coolant into a clean bucket and pulled it. Better access can only make matters easier when it's time to reassemble. How about the small coolant overflow tank and associated bracket? Looks like it needs to go, especially the bracket. Last time I did a valve cover...

Anything I need to know regarding pulling the valve cover? Thanks!

    8.3 liter valve cover gasket

Anybody changed the valve cover gasket on one of these? Got a part number or recommended part? I've got black permatex. I'm thinking a solid gasket is probably better. Edit - part number is 3905449. Thanks

Don't scrap it no matter what. If it doesn't end up going to Nick, contact me and I have a couple of ideas for either a temporary or permanent home.
