    Mav’s M1088A1 Conversion

Yeah I was hoping he would drop some more videos after he finished the initial semi-complete build of his box but he's kind of dropped off the radar... Life happens and gets in the way of our plans sometimes...

    Mav’s M1088A1 Conversion

Don't forget to install a Chucky brace with the cab flipped forward! We don't want anyone else getting the FMTV love squeeze of death!

    M813 Seized Engine

The heads looked very nice under the valve covers, almost like new! Unfortunately, the Cummins laughed at us when we tied to rotate the crank with the giant torque wrench!

    Mav’s M1088A1 Conversion

You could take some inspiration from Nate Volk's solution

What have you done WITH your FMTV ( trips, Rescues etc) NOT: fixes, updates etc

Next I have to perform the same trick on an unsuspecting Prius! Preferably with antifa or tree hugger stickers or something on it!

What have you done WITH your FMTV ( trips, Rescues etc) NOT: fixes, updates etc

I'm afraid powder, scrapes, and chunks are all that's left!

What have you done WITH your FMTV ( trips, Rescues etc) NOT: fixes, updates etc

Yeah I wish I thought of that I was rushing because the garbage truck was just down the street and then I needed to use my trash can for all the old shingles from fixing my corner of my roof

What have you done WITH your FMTV ( trips, Rescues etc) NOT: fixes, updates etc

Well military trucks can double as fun trash compactors... Last year I scavened some parts from an old projection TV that was gigantic and I was trying to figure out how to dispose of the huge shell. Easy enough just stick it under the tires of Sergeant York and drive forward and back a few...

    M934 Motorhome Conversion

I'm near Camp Pendleton. Had a rare treat a few weeks ago when I saw four LCAC hovercraft doing training just outside the LCAC base, hovering around between the beach and the mothership! Cobras, Blackhawks, and Ospreys hovering overhead! By the way does anybody know the weight of the bare...

    Oil drain pro-tip

Bob is my uncle and he was a Master mechanic so I think he'd like your trick!

    M934 Motorhome Conversion

I might let go of four windows being the rearmost two on each side, and cover those holes, and mount 38x24 windows from recpro under them. The framing of the structure is perfect for it and right below the window I will be mounting an L-Track from us cargo control. I'll use rivnuts along that...

Hideous M1088! Obviously a John Deer fan

I mean just paint the pea green stuff to the proper OD Green, and the yellow stuff to flat black... Boom you have a nice truck again! Still not worth 45k! No AC or nothing just nicely upholstered seats. But those look like the standard seats with nice leather on them however they probably...

Hideous M1088! Obviously a John Deer fan

Even the interior is green and yellow! https://www.govplanet.com/for-sale/Truck-Tractors-1998-Stewart-%26-Steveson-M-1088-6x6-T%2FA-Day-Cab-Truck-Tractor-Tennessee/9385643?h=5000%2Cq%7CM1088&rr=1&hitprm=&pnLink=yes

    M934 Motorhome Conversion

One trick I figured out for spraying rust converter to the insides of that bumper area on the slide out panels, is to buy a can of WD-40 with the flexible metal spray nozzle. Take off that nozzle and attach it to a can of Rust-Oleum rust converter. Then you can angle it down into those spaces...

Won’t go past 55 mph and revs high while driving.

Won't go over 55 and revs high while driving... Sounds like every unmodified FMTV, but I digress!

    What is this cable?

I found this in my 2001 m1083a1. Anybody know what it is? Radio cable perhaps?

    M934 Motorhome Conversion

I have the same box, mine is the trailer mounted kind that was a electrical repair trailer and I have replaced the seals at the top edge just under the roof and bought equivalent seals to replace the door seals and the ones around the forward and back folding panels. The picture that just shows...

Bought Someone’s M1078 Camper Project- Seeking Direction on a Couple Issues

The m1079s and the m1087s use spring bolts at least on one end. You can see photos of the mounting system here: https://midwestmilitaryequipment.com/1998-stewart-stevenson-lmtv-m1079-2-1-2-ton-4x4-camper-truck-2/ I suggest for a lightweight aluminum habitat like that that you contact Dave...

    Superthermal's M813 Build, THE BOT

$997 for an s280 shelter... All I can say is wow! A typical expedition RV habitat shelter of the same size is at least $20,000! That's with no doors windows or anything!

Did I just buy a 2023 LMTV M1078A1 or not?

My 2001 m1083 has an engine epa date the same as yours. I'm pretty sure you got a 2003-2004
