Check inside that plug from #36. Sometimes the wire breaks free inside that plug and is just barely making contact. It's pretty easy to pull apart and re-user the plug with new wire. I've also had the opposite side, near the gauge, so dry rotted, as soon as I lightly tugged, it just broke...
I didn't think of that when I first put them on. Luckily they peel off easily. I just put them on a sheet of refrigerator magnets material and cut it out so I can put it on for when it's for show.
They get pretty darn warm. Mine does. The faster I go, the hotter it gets. Keep speeds 55 and below, it's warm but not hot. 60 and above, it's pretty hot!
I'd tell them to call that number! 🤣
But...you aren't wrong either. I thought about that, it could be playing with fire. I got a friend who hauls a bunch of hazardous materials, mostly fuels, but I'll ask him about it and maybe he can get me in contact with someone.
Thanks for the congrats! I think it's a good idea to hang onto the old NDT's, just never know if you'd need them or maybe another fellow SS member not too far away might buy them from you, just never know. That's cool about the M715. Maybe snap a photo or two of it when you can.
Another thing...
I forgot to ask, are you planning on changing the speedo out as well? I didn't change mine out since it was done already, but if not, it'll be off and you'll be going faster than your speedometer says you are.
I don't think the run flats will be too rough honestly. I have them in mine. I can tell they are in there, but it's not enough to bother me in the slightest. I would still get a spare, at least the tire itself, maybe a used one. I wanted to get one but my old lady freaked out on me over $100...
Sounds like you got a good deal. I heard the run flats make the ride slightly rougher due to vibration and such, but unless that tire explodes, imo, it's a good insurance policy that can get you home if need be.
I got my stickers on now. Now I'll need to make Tarman so it'll be epic this Halloween (my favorite holiday, plus due to the candy because I take the kids and that means dad applies "dad tax"😆). Sometimes you just gotta do stuff a little different to amp up that cool factor, not that the deuce...
Looks like a nice truck! That's a nice cruising speed to RPM ratio too, I can still appreciate a stock truck for nostalgia, but the bigger wheels are definitely an improvement for cruising on the black top.
Another way to ground the instrument panel, get a terminal block/ground block. It'll have one point for the primary ground, and depending on the type you get, it could have 1,2,3,4, or more points to attach other grounds too and the block can be attached behind the dash with screws, zip ties...
Yes sir. If I remember right, I believe it was JP-5, pretty much like Kerosene. I don't have an egt gauge yet, I also haven't adjusted the fuel or tampered with the IP/FDC. A gauge is definitely on the to do list of things to add, but I haven't been too concerned over it, I don't haul heavy...
Back in the day we didn't have the dishwasher pods. Never tried it, but I think I will the next time I do one. They sure clean up my dishes well, oil, grease, kids boogers, always shiny clean!
