I think the easiest and cheapest solution to mounting a winch anywhere else other than the front would be an electric winch. You could do a 24v or a 12 v with the correct accessories. I bought the cheapest winch off Amazon, Zeak, and I use the crap out of it. Had it for 2 years now and it works...
Is there a battery disconnect on the truck, a separate shut off from the accessory switch? Possibility there's a short somewhere if the alternator proves to be working.
I'm curious, does the voltage gage stay in yellow or green while the truck is running? Usually the gage will dip into the...
Thanks, I'll keep an eye for that, I honestly didn't even think to look at CL or even FB marketplace for tires. I did get ahold of 007 and he's like 125 miles north of me and I'll be seeing him next week.
Exactly. On my Hagerty policy, I'm suppose to keep it 2,500 miles or less a year, but I've done 4 times that. They won't know and if something was to happen, it was that one time I decided to take it out to a parking lot car show and bought a thing or two from the store who's parking lot we used...
Insurance companies can be so finicky. One office or agent will deny you but another of the same company will accept you. I would tell them it's mostly for a show piece and the occasional drive so they don't push me to get a commercial policy. I've had State Farm before no issues. Then when I...
Wow, I only want two or so for spares in case I have a blow out. If you ever get the time to go through some that you find that are still safe to drive on, let me know. If not, I'm gonna keep looking around.
Talking about 396/85/20 tires, how do most of y'all get them? GL or buy used ones from sources found online? I found some where a decently used tire is around $150-$200, but the shipping is horrendous! Costs just as much if not more than the tire itself, lol.
Agreed. What scares me are the truckers and others operating large vehicles stopping at the last minute. Countless videos online of truckers and such losing brakes and wham! I'll take all the finger flippers, I'll slow down and coast my way to a stop, even with a long line of cars behind me...
That's makes sense and glad you got it fixed. I always wondered what kind of issues having water in the air system can cause other than rusting the air tanks. Water affecting the air pack is probably a lot more common than previously thought and is a common issue among deuces if the water isn't...
Oh jeez, lol. Here I thought it was air. I didn't ask when I rode in Jason's humvee at the rally. I guess I was just to in awe in every it was climbing over so effortlessly!
That would be awesome to see in the parade! In the memorial day parade, we had two M37's and the stories behind them were amazing. Can't wait to see this M37 roll down the road, parade or not!!
Are you trying to utilize the same air line for the wipers? I'm not very familiar with these trucks so I'm just trying to picture it in my head from the little bit I have seen inside of one.
It's possible, but anything milage or hourly related is suspicious with MV's. Dates are at least some form of indication if it was stamped on any of the tags. Almost impossible to know for certain without a paper trail.
A lot of race cars run on methanol, the oil I get from the race track has a lot of methanol in it. The deuce runs very good on it
You're exactly right. Comes down to time and money for most people. Most shops used to get paid to recycle the wmo and now from what I've been told by numerous...
Sometimes just cruising around and checking out what's in the area can pay off. I was cruising around some old stomping grounds and took a detour due to road construction. I found a deuce in the front yard that doesn't look like it has moved in a long time with tons of tires and parts in the...
Y'all had me thinking about back tracking on the E-85, I did some reading and apparently there's conflicting information about what it does or doesn't do. Apparently, which I should have known, it is a strong cleaner more so than regular gas. Conflicting reports suggest it may corrode certain...
Did you ever have any more issues with a brake sticking? I had that issue not long ago, on my way to the Haspin Rally. I almost turned around and went back home. The drum was so hot it was smoking like it was on fire. Took 10 bottles of water and 45 mins to cool off but ever since then, it...
