Please post the part number for your brake cables.
There are several sellers out there that claim their surplus cables will work and end up being too long.
Doable but not correct ones.
Part numbers for the other items you replaced will also help others.
Thanks
I was referring to the mounts themselves, not the shackles.
Their huge and look like they will allow the shackles to really bounce around.
M101 series trailer shackle mount is 3/4” hole.
I’ve even seen 1”
Your trailer looks like just a big loop.
Was just curious if you made the change...
No matter how nice the truck, it’s still over 30 years old.
Internal corrosion of the wire(s) might have been the issue.
Corrosion adds resistance which equals heat.
Wire can look brand new on the outside, but be corroded internally.
After reading the other good ideas, that’s the only thing...
Trailer looks good!
Did you modify the front shackle mounts?
I’ve never seen that style on a M101 series trailer before.
The lug nuts almost look like lock nuts.
Great idea for the bows.
Good score!
That will look much better painted solid green.
Painting wheels black or green will look good too.
Croft trailer supply has all the factory parts for the hydraulic brake actuator.
Finding correct cables is a roll of the dice.
New brake handles (correct ones) are impossible to...
So I picked up the newly installed tires today.
This is the closest tire I could to find to match the ones that it came with. E rated.
Installed valve stem extensions to make life easier down the road.
Used some rust converter on the drums and some spots on the wheels.
Finished one side of one...
It sometimes takes some ample force to get it to turn.
You might heat it up with a torch to help break the rust loose.
The expansion and contraction of the metal usually breaks the bond.
There are a LOT of M101 series trailer owners who need these handles.
Including me.
I meant on that particular handle.
We’ve been down this road before.
I can find the TM part number all day long, along with plenty of handles that claim to “fit”, but do not.
I have not seen that new style for sale anywhere, which is why I wondered if there’s a part number stamped on it
Finally installed the two missing battery hold down studs.
Only took 5 years.........
Bought 1/4” stainless steel threaded rod and cut to length.
Next time I have the top trays off, I’ll cover the middle with shrink sleeve to prevent any chafing.
It was one of those items that I knew about...
Those lower prices seem reasonable for what your wanting.
Canvas isn’t cheap anymore snd isn’t easy to work with because of the weight, plus you want windows too.
Try 98G’s suggestion and give that place a call.
That trailer looks great. Nice color.
