Floridianson in Interlachen, FL has a deuce bed and some G177 tires I'd like to own but as happens often in this hobby geography is in my way. Any chance someone is looking to haul stuff to the Kansas City area?
I spotted a nice looking M1008 in the parking lot of a reserve unit in Kansas City last week. I stopped by on business but had to detour around the parking lot to ogle the CUCV on my way out.
Try Brian Stilwell of B&R trucking out of Flint, MI. He has moved an atv, Jeep, Deuce, and 5 ton for me more than a couple times and he always beat uShip rates. He's a great guy, he's usually booked but he'll work with you as best he can.
Nope. There aren't any stores or auctions that sell exclusively to service members. Removing anything from any place military people have "access" to on post is stealing. Even the trash still belongs to the government until the contracted trash-hauler takes it away. Also, chances are if there is...
I picked up an old field safe off GL awhile back and it was set to the default combination. I've looked at several and all had the combination set to default prior to being surplused. I've also seen more than a few field safes in use at various units throughout my career that had never been...
50-25-50 is the usual default combination. If it's a Sargent and Greenleaf mechanical lock, their site will have instructions. If it's something else you may need to search the makers site.

There is also a significant difference in RO/RO if it's weather deck loaded vs. hold loaded. Anything loaded outside the hold for the duration of the voyage will suffer exposure to salt spray. If you're loaded internally you shouldn't have much to worry about unless you have unpainted or already...
You can always go with black. Rustoleum makes some high heat paint. I haven't tried it yet, I have a few cans on hand to repaint my exhaust, it seems like another thread on steel soldiers prompted me to buy it. I think I bought mine at Lowes or HD. Your local autoparts store carries exhaust...
Indeed that is a very sad story. The former owner silverstate is referring to is Steve Preston. Hw was very well known and active member in the HMV community, and a fellow steelsoldier. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?146305-Tank-Explosion-In-OR
...and that's the rest of the story. An M60 in any condition is a rare piece to own. I imagine a skilled welder could cover that up with little trouble. Of course you wouldn't want to go toe to toe with any russkies, but it'll be a centerpiece to the collection.
Ouch, looks like that M60A1 is missing a little something from the glacis plate. Whats the story?
The "Ontos" in the 7th photo is an M56 Scorpion. Early versions of the Ontos shared parts of the M56 running gear, but it's a different vehicle entirely. The Ontos is more well known, but the M56...
