    1999 M1097 4 speed 6.5L seized motor

There was no water in the oil? It's either liquid locked or something bad happened inside the motor. Doubt the starter is bad but possible. With the suggestions from others you should be able to ascertain what is wrong. Mark

Thanks understood. Shame it's not an easier conversion.

I think my head gasket failed

My point was is it possible to upgrade a NA 6.5 to a turbo 6.5 if you are changing the heads. Mark

I think my head gasket failed

If they are the wrong heads for the normally aspirated engine are they the correct heads for the turbo setup?

    Towning home a M1101 I won

Bring a thermal temp sensor gun to monitor the brakes. If they stay cool you should be all set until you get home and service the trailer properly Mark

    Painting galvanized bolts

That Galvanic reaction is a real pain. I personally would go with good quality steel bolts. Coat the bolt threads with Permatex Cooper anti seize as well as the mating surfaces of washers used. Once installed wipe away any anti seize or oil with a breakeen damp rag. Once dry hit with a good...

Good luck with the swap. It looks like a viable and cost effective way to go. Please keep us updated. Mark

    HMMWV Doors/ Tops

That never should have made it to a shipping box. Quality control needs to greatly improve. That would really tick me off. Mark

    HMMWV Doors/ Tops

If it is just a chip in the clearcoat then is not a big deal at all. They sure are smoother than the X-Doors but I would like to see someone compare them side to side. Use a good eatching primer and don't forget to wipe down the doors with a tack cloth before spraying enything. Mark

I think my head gasket failed

Contact Promaxx and give them the NSN number and another number you have. They should be able to tell you if it work. Worth a shot. Mark

    HMMWV Doors/ Tops

How thin is the fiberglass? Disturbing to find cracks on a new item. Box damaged at all? I feel for you. Mark

White smoke at idle and driving.

I keep two new spare injectors just in case I have a problem with injectors. Mark

White smoke at idle and driving.

Yes I concur from a previous poster it may be an injector issue and using a laser temp gun may identify a cooler exhaust. Mark

    HMMWV trailer builders

I thought they were the same except maybe a different spring pack. Good to know thanks. Mark

    HMMWV trailer builders

No they are the same that I've seen. The M1101 hauls a less weight than the M1102 by 800lbs pounds. They both come in at 1400lbs empty. Great trailers. I have a pristine M101A2 all in OD but very difficult to find an M1101 or M1102 all in OD anymore. Mark

    HMMWV Drivetrain

That tv setup is very very hard to find as it only came in a (civilian) 3/4 ton van with the 6.2 so good luck finding one. Mark
