I'm a big fan of the red top Optima batteries. Been using them for many years and on the average get ten years out of them. The Hawkers are great but the cost is way high. Have had two Optima batteries in my M998 for two years with zero issues. Just my two cents.

Don't know what the proper name is but the little dash vent slider knob on the pass side of my truck is missing and I would like to find a replacment. Any help would be much appreciated.

I was thinking the same thing but if they are selling these things then why not list them all since they will all bolt on to the airlift bumper. On another note I can't believe how much the prices have gone up on these parts in the last few years.

As others have stated. If it were me I would reuse the gasket (new one not readily avail) . I would spay a coating of Permatex Copper High Temperature Spray-A-Gasket on both sides of the head gasket. I would torque the head down to 5 lbs more than spec to re-seat the flame ring. Should be fine...
A 292 stovbolt is a downgrade from the 251 flathead? Downgrade in what way? Purest? I sure see that and agree most times with that but on power and longevity? I don't see your point.

I agree the stock X doors really fit the looks of the truck. I have thought about putting some bed coating on the inside of my X doors to insulate them a bit and make them quieter. They sure are much quieter as is compared to my old soft doors.

One motor I really like is the old 4-53T two cycle Detroit. A little noisy but a great motor and unfortunately the rpm band is no good for the HMMWV.
