    White smoke startup 6.5

Does she start right up or does it take time cranking? What is the glow plug light doing during the startup procedure? If she take her time starting when it's below 60 outside then that is an indication of a start/glow issue. I see you replaced everything but did you test the system on...

    Batteries

I'm a big fan of the red top Optima batteries. Been using them for many years and on the average get ten years out of them. The Hawkers are great but the cost is way high. Have had two Optima batteries in my M998 for two years with zero issues. Just my two cents. Mark

    Humvee viscus fan conversion

How much air does the fan move? As I recall the stock fan moves over 2000 CFM. Mark

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

    Slow Down an M37

Can you put smaller tires on the Roxor? That may be the easiest way to slow her speed down. Mark

    Ballistic windshield wiper extensions

Yes, heat and penetrating oil may do the trick. Also some love taps with a hammer may help break it free. Good luck, Mark

Rhinolift Tire Carrier for a M1045A2?

I was thinking the same thing but if they are selling these things then why not list them all since they will all bolt on to the airlift bumper. On another note I can't believe how much the prices have gone up on these parts in the last few years. Matk

Rhinolift Tire Carrier for a M1045A2?

Hell the M998s are not even on that list. I have to wonder what is holding up my spare tire on my M998. Mark

Reuse head gasket if not run yet

As others have stated. If it were me I would reuse the gasket (new one not readily avail) . I would spay a coating of Permatex Copper High Temperature Spray-A-Gasket on both sides of the head gasket. I would torque the head down to 5 lbs more than spec to re-seat the flame ring. Should be fine...

M37 Engine Swap with M151 Engine

A 292 stovbolt is a downgrade from the 251 flathead? Downgrade in what way? Purest? I sure see that and agree most times with that but on power and longevity? I don't see your point. Mark

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I agree the stock X doors really fit the looks of the truck. I have thought about putting some bed coating on the inside of my X doors to insulate them a bit and make them quieter. They sure are much quieter as is compared to my old soft doors. Mark

M37 Engine Swap with M151 Engine

An old 292 chevy stright six stove bolt engine would be a nice upgrade and it would give you a good boost in power. Just my .02 cents. Mark

    Who all keeps the runflats

If you remove the run flats and have a blowout the tire will drop a great deal and can cause a bit of stress. Mark

I think my head gasket failed

They have a coolant test kit at Autozone that tests for combustion gasses in the coolant. Mark

    Armored Humvees Powertrain

One motor I really like is the old 4-53T two cycle Detroit. A little noisy but a great motor and unfortunately the rpm band is no good for the HMMWV. Mark

    Towing 30k lbs?

Yeah you need a 5 ton for that. You need big weight and big power to pull 40k around town. Mark
