disconnect the wires from the 4 rear right terminals and see that the problem goes away or if it still 'says' there is a problem. also take the box apart and look for water damage as george said. are you sure the cables from the contactor to the output connection have not rubbed thru on the back...
i would take the filters off and fill the oil passages first. just cranking it would be hard both on the starter and the dry bearings, you know how long it takes to fill everything even with it running. one that i started after 18 years in a field had the turbo stuck from exhaust carbon and...
well, experiance trumps the specs sometimes. i have had interstate 31's on my generator for 8 years and they still seem great. i had a 24 in my forklift for over 10 years and it was abused, still works but i replaced it just so it does not let me down. same for cars and equipment, interstate...
did you get them surplus? i have found lots of things that were surplused because they failed QC or had a known defect and they just throw them away, then someone sells them as NOS! what is inside? i have one of the round pumps that is shorted, but they are pretty cheap so i will just buy a new one.
be very careful removing the delivery valve from top of pump while in engine, there are several small parts, spring holder, spring, valve, valve seat, and 1 or 2 shims. with a mirror you can see the plunger rotate when you move the shutoff control. do not crank engine with delivery valve out, it...
does it start making black smoke? if yes it is getting plenty of fuel. is air filter ok? how much load do you have on it? do not trust the load meter, either calculate the load or use a clamp on meter.
i would much rather have an engine with 5000 hrs on it instead of a mil rebuild with just a few. i have seen so much stuff where they did not know or did not care.
am i missing something somewhere? the last stock truck i swapped engines on, i took out 2 mount bolts in front and 2 in rear on sides and removed engine and trans as one unit with the rad still attached. total time to swap engine was about 4 hours, 1 person.
this is all interesting, but with such a poor flowing head i think it is all a waste of time, just chasing rainbows. you can get a much better idea of things by learning about turbine and compressor maps and using some of the on line computors to calculate hp based on fuel, boost and rpm. once...
only with the gen running and then there would be an obvious heavy load on the gen. this is a safety for unattended running. in this case it has not been started when it shows short. something in the malfunction indicator has probably gone bad or gotten wet.
keep in mind there are 2 completely different systems here, 1 is the DC system that starts and runs the engine, the other is the AC system that monitors and controls that part of the system.
it seems common for the wires from the main AC contactor to the output lugs to wear thru on the back of...
yes, i think you have at least 2 problems, but sometimes they are related to each other. just start with 1 and solve it. R10 is just 1 of 3, one for each phase, that are to load the sensing transformers so the circuit can see how much current is being generated. the more current the gen puts...
