Well, you are correct. For some reason years ago I was going to get some chains and I didn’t because I thought the law had changed… huh. So what kind of chains you got there?
This is a complete WAG, However I’ve been looking around and i think those hoses can be found online as a commercially available part. I believe they are called brake chamber or “drop down” air lines. Available in sooo many different sizes. And inexpensive to boot. It was a concern of mine when...
Here is the contents of the spare tire lift cylinder. I thought that my cylinder must’ve had corroded internally, it wouldn’t move. Once I cleared out the old fluid, that was mystery mix of fluid…. It works!
In the ram there are check balls on each side, raise and lower. I had a similar issue after the P/O had rebuilt the pump. My ram extended a few inches and locked up solid. I had to pull the pins to remove the cylinder. Once it was out I pulled both fittings, screens? Then I was able to push the...
If I recall correctly, the main battery ground in the battery box was hooked up to the negative terminal of the 24v battery. It should be at the negative terminal on the 12v battery.
This gave 22VDC at the power panel in the cab on the 24v side and I don’t recall what the 12v side was reading...
An exoskeleton may be the way to go. I’ve had cages in a couple of my rides. With the size of tubing required for protection it would really encroach on the premium living space in the cab. For as big as these trucks are the cab feels right to me. Of course if you are trying to keep it stock...

Figured I'd drop this here for anyone looking to troubleshoot their ABS issues. Starting on page 31 are the blink codes. Further down is listed all the proper resistance by component, wheel speed sensors, valve actuators etc...
When I got my truck those plugs were missing on the brake cans. I got them on eBay for pretty short money as I recall. It just seems wrong to leave them open to dirt and debris, I hadn’t thought of water ingress….. but that can’t help operations when in freezing conditions.😬
I’ve got a M1078A1 2003 model, my ABS light will come on from time to time. Sometimes it’s on startup and will stay on until the truck is restarted. It’s never stayed on beyond one reset. Seems the system is a bit temperamental. I haven’t yet tried to hook up the code reader yet.
I have an A1 and it’s 295 HP, as I recall. Definitely not 330 HP.
I have a NOS 3116 Cat oil line sitting in my toolbox if someone is in need. Shoot me a PM.
Man, that’s terrible. I’ve been there, hard to not start just throwing tools and parts…. When you get it squared away I’m sure there will be a vital piece of information that we will all need at some point sooner or later. Hang in there.
Got a chance to work on light wiring, turn signals, parking lights GTG. I’m having an issue with the main lights, ran out of time for troubleshooting time for today.
