I've got a similar problem. Mine flashes "Air Low" and "Parking Brake On" and buzzes. When I first got the truck, never had those issues. When it first happened, I remembered a thread on SS to check the wires going to the parking brake switch next to the handle. Tugged the wires slightly and...
Mr. Ken,
It's coming along pretty good. I have no doubt that breaking a foot is awful, it sucks. I'm thinking of pulling my M1028 NOS USMC Norway stored CUCV just to have a bump around vehicle. I hate the way it sounds going 50 mph down the road so hooking it behind the M923 sounds like a...
Broke my left foot just over 2 weeks ago. I may be a hop along if this thing doesn't heal in time so I'm apologizing in advance if I steal your chair or don't get out of my vehicle to talk to you. I think I'm healing up just fine but until you've lost a tire, you don't notice how much of an...
PCTrans,
Bring the campstove with the two propane burners. I may need to try it out but my better half says it's coming home regardless. I have your headlights, we can horsetrade.
Thanks kindly,
Joseph
PCTrans,
Can the field stove be hooked to a propane tank? I've got to cook some breakfast soon for my camp as well as the camp you're staying at. Didn't get the big cabin this year so gotta find a way to get breakfast done. If not, no worries, I'll get a electric burner eye but I'd rather...
I just want to clarify an answer I sent to a friend. Nobody cares if a Civilian Jeep, say CJ5, gets on the trails with the trucks? I know Clinto posted that there will be no rally organized trail rides and no worries there. I assured my buddy that we don't care if a Jeep or two joins in on...
ThunderCracker, would you be interested in a 1985 M1028 as a trade? I intended to get a clean M1009 but wound up with this instead. It's quite a find as well. Search "NOS USMC" in the CUCV forum and you'll find my history with the truck. Still has under 8,000 original miles.
PC Trans had a pile of those last year. They were a little on the long side but a friend of mine made them shorter with a little machine work. He put them in a lathe, cut through the weld, shortened the shaft, re-drilled the hole and re-welded the elbow. Took about 20 minutes each.
If you're looking at a basic cargo variant, I'd get a running one. Due to the weight of these trucks, I've seen scrappers run non runners up to the 2,000 or so mark and then you have to consider transport for a non-runner. You can't just load one of these onto a gooseneck trailer and haul it...
I'm not sure why a M809 series truck would be any better than an M939 series truck off road. Same heavy 14 Liter Cummins so lots of weight on the front axle. M809's have a sprag type transfer case which engages automatically once the rears tires slip if it's working correctly. M939's have the...
Good, now maybe you'll actually see what we do on the trails!!! I know you wouldn't take your restored stuff into the woods but that thing is made for getting out and about.
I really like the setup shown in the linked thread. It might require some help from an engineer who is also a fabricator to modify the camper. Luckily I'm friends with a man who is both. Dolly's are nice but I would like to be able to back the combination up and having two pivot points might...
Before the base motorpool upgraded to International trucks, we had some of the F800's rolling around. Mid 90's models powered by Cummins 8.3's. When they went to auction, they all went for over 5K. I wanted to get one to transplant an 8.3 into a deuce but no cheese left on the cracker for the...
I think I have seen a thread on this before but search is not my friend tonight. I have come across a pretty decent deal on a camper that needs to be pulled home with a truck compatible with a gooseneck adapter in the bed. I would like to equip my cargo truck to be able to pull it while...
Thanks for pointing that thread out Jakeic15, good information there. Many people have pointed out in other threads that we need to stay under 200 psi rail pressure and ideally stay under 185 psi. I used to wonder why until I watched a video on youtube as to how the PT injection system works...
I'll weigh in just a tad. I drilled out the throttle shaft on my truck, unscrewed about 7/8 of a turn and noticed good results. Or so I thought... My injection pump somehow pushed the front seal to the companion flange out and pushed the front seal of the companion flange out as well. I...
Possibly up soon are my cabin reservations. I normally stay at Kaye's Keep which is located directly across from the main lodge. I've had some friends recently back out this year. I'll keep it under my name until someone wants to take it over. I'd rather it go to someone on Steel Soldiers...
I'm interested in 2 Hawker 6T-AGM Batteries. I may not be able to make the trip this year due to training but I have a friend going. I don't have anything to trade so I need a cash price at the lowest end of the market!
