There is a book out, no longer in print, "THE M37 RESTORATION GUIDE". In that book the author lists the "cost" of owning a M37 and includes the cost of a new garage addition. That is not MAINTENANCE. I'm pretty sure the guy said 1000 miles would require $1000 in maintenance. I got to hand...
I have a selection of antique type vehicles....M37's..WC 52/51's and I understand "something" is always going to need to be repaired at some point, but to put a mileage and cost per mile is kinda matter of fact for a item that has so many variables . And I sure as heck don't want to be reminded...
I watched a program this past Sunday on AHC (old military channel) titled "MILITARY COLLECTORS". The gentleman that was the subject of this episode is a long time restorer of vehicles. The HMMWV came up in the discussion and he stated, "that you'll spend a thousand dollars on maintenance for...
I feel your pain on that issue... I bought mine from the "original" sale too...but on the plus side we haven't had this much activity on the Humvee board in a long time. Plus the interest it will bring to the hobby over all could be a positive thing. It's got to be good for the parts guys too...
THANK YOU for your service !! and yes the AC is too comfy for us Devil Dogs....but on a serious note....I think your idea on the sound proof'n is good. Only wish I had it around those J79's in the 70's!

Can I poke a little fun at you please..... The whole reason we have a MV is to remember how bad the comfort level is....yelling over a whistling deuce or gama goat...the pain in the back that a Humvee seat is or the fogging windshield of a M37 in the rain..it's all part of the MV experience...
I remember this same topic coming up after the Atlanta auction. Dealers had tons of parts at give away prices because buyers were limited. Once some of the trucks hit the market pricing went up. Most everyone in the hobby agreed that it was just a good return on a chance investment for those...
I miss Sid too....I took a trip to see him about two yrs before he passed away. The railcars he had for all the inventory were a blast to look thru. SUPER NICE guy.

Rick Larsen and George bid on a FEMA trailer after the Katrina event and won. I picked it up and delivered it to them @ the Aberdeen MV meet in 2006. Man was I EVER GLAD to turn it over to them (damage free)!!
Guys ..George from Vermont Commercial has passed away yesterday. If you have been into M37's very long you know George. The hobby will not be the same without him. He was a great friend and will be missed by many.
RIP George I will miss you!

I don't know $h#! from shinola what the up coming price will be on the latest possible releases of Humvee's, but in 2001 when I purchased mine I paid $19,500 for it from a MV dealer in Augusta ,Ga. On the SF97 I got with it I saw where it was sold to them for $7500. My truck was pretty much...
I have noticed my M1009 was getting harder to crank on cold ( for south Alabama) days. The relay on the fire wall made a sound like closing a squeeky door followed by a thump and the wait light would finally go out . If it made that sound I knew it would not start.
Since it has been running...
Ok....I'm sure that most everyone who have puchased a vehicle from these guys got the same email....So what vehicles did they pull at the request of DOD ???

Henry !! I got the time this morning to run a hose from my shop air compressor to the drivers side glad hand. It took about 3-4 minutes to bring the truck tanks up to 120 psi. As I was attaching the glad hand I noticed the valve was in the open postion. Long and the short of it is at some...
