In the past, I've had issues with the ground on the truck side.
A dvm hooked to ground on the vehicle then plugged into each pin should tell you which wire on the truck is or isn't working. Gimme some time and I will find the pins you need to test.
How much was the plunger(you called it a piston) moving? Sometimes the button falls off the bottom and it moves, but not enough to create the right pressure.
While getting things ready for the trip yesterday, I found some tow lights new in the box $275 each. Also found some mbu v3 control panels new in the box. Not sure on prices, make offer. Ive got a brandy new air tank and some battery hold downs. Makesure you stop by to see what else I can dig up!
For years I ran used oil in mine. Yes it may have ruined some injectors and maybe the injection pump, but the money I saved was MANY times more than what I spent on replacement parts.
I did make sure it was filtered before it went in my tank, not sure what others are doing, but it has been way...
