    PNW Info Thread!

I go to other car shows, every event organizer has been thrilled as they don't get many larger trucks and our MV's are really popular. I know there car shows all over the state (even the East side). It might seem like our trucks are out of place, and the first time I went I figured everyone...

    PNW Info Thread!

I'm seeing the emojis, but you're just coming across as a jerk, to me. You're the one that started this, I asked you nicely to stop. Since, it seems I'm the only one that is irked, and you can't take a hint, I'll just ignore you.

    PNW Info Thread!

Would you stop. I don't know why this has to be a competition. You have your thing, I get it. This is a car show 200 miles away. It's 1 day.

I'd rather support my local Veterans.

    PNW Info Thread!

*blows the cobwebs off the thread* Posted this in "Upcoming Events", but just in case anyone reads this here: So, this thing is for classic cars and the sort, but I started going to it a few years ago because my M35A2 is certainly a classic & Vietnam era. Lots of vets stopped by and a few...

Bellingham, WA - 10th Annual Vietnam Vet's Car Show, July 18th

So, this thing is for classic cars and the sort, but I started going to it a few years ago because my M35A2 is certainly a classic & Vietnam era. Lots of vets stopped by and a few related stories about their experiences with the Deuce. I've brought my truck to other shows and it's always...

    Tall Guy looking for options

Old thread but...I raised my roof ~6" when I had my cab redone to strengthen the roof. Kinda wanted to go higher, but I want to suspend things from the ceiling and still reach buttons, etc without stretching. I'm only 5' 10", maybe 5' 9" (people shrink with age) now, and it's easier to move...

    Synthetic oil

Good thing it wasn't something fragile, like a house. You could've actually done some damage.

    Synthetic oil

Yeah, but millenials don't get drunk and say, "hey, I know how to drive that".

    Synthetic oil

I installed a air cut off. Doubles as a theft deterrent.

    Fleet expansion: 1968 M62A2

This by the way, is the soon-to-be owner. He's been enjoying himself trying to fix the brakes and other odds and ends to get it roadworthy. And it looks like he'll have room for the deuce after all (he's parked the 5 ton in the front yard, guess it's better than cutting the grass), so we won't...

    Synthetic oil

I'm gonna try synthetic oil. Yes, I've heard it will cause leaks. I've also read that synthetic oil cleans so it might expose leaks I didn't know I had, and I'd rather find those now, than when I'm 1k miles from home or above the arctic circle. Will it damage my seals & gaskets? Maybe, and...

    Fleet expansion: 1968 M62A2

Around here, salt isn't used much. DOT's will spread a de-icer the night before and maybe use sand. In my city, they only plow the main roads, if you live on a side street (like me) you wait for the sun. I'm not sure what my mechanic friend has in mind, he's been talking about getting a 5 ton...

    Fleet expansion: 1968 M62A2

There are a few extra switches that have been added in the cab, maybe one of them is for a heater. Wasn't able to inspect the truck before purchase, bit of a leap of faith, but the city said it was in running condition though w/o brakes.

    Fleet expansion: 1968 M62A2

It's been in use by a small city for some years...101k miles, I wonder what they've been using it for.

    Fleet expansion: 1968 M62A2

So, I bought a new, to me, A2 It's actually a 1968 M61A2. I'm posting here, because I really bought it for a friend - he a mechanic who will work off the debt doing stuff to my other A2. Neither one of us have room for 2 trucks, so, when he's working on my Deuce his truck will live in my...

    Oil & lubrication

I don't pretend to be an expert or even an enthusiast when it comes to petroleum, but for instance, synthetic oil is a thing now that wasn't a thing 60 years ago. Now, I'm not saying to use synthetic oil, just pointing at it as an example how technology has created something new. This is less...

    Oil & lubrication

Was recently reading up on engines and came across this: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/how-to-improve-mpg-of-lds-465-1a-engine.87915/post-1507272 See post #23 & 25. Now, there is some not-so-little bit on here about what oil to use, but most of those threads are 10+ years old, and...
