Ditto on the TMs. My starter was a culprit for a couple of dead batteries. It had an internal short. The positive posts rubber insulating washer was damaged causing it to short to ground. Good luck!

Sounds like you should register it as a regular truck. I had mine that way for years until it became a antique then I registered it as such. In MI antique plates are $30? for 10? Years with the stipulation that the vehicle is not to be used daily; but for parades, car shows and Sunday drives.

Yea I don't like the idea of a tanked market for the legally titled HMMWV but then again I doubt I'll ever sell mine.

I am cheap like jhooah, so I just have two battery disconnect switches from Harbor Freight one to separate and one to disconnect from the system. I then put my 12v AGM battery charger on either battery until it is charged and switch it to the other battery. I didn't go cheap on the AGM...
