1988-1998 mirrors with arm will fit the stock base. Some modifications may be needed to stiffen the door skin. The 1973-I986 skins are a bit weak, a few lengths of 16 gauge angle secured to the inside with body panel adhesive work well.
Stock starter relay in a non stock position. Would make it easy to unplug if it failed. It is normally attached to the same bracket as the voltmeter and right alternator relays. You posted a picture of this bracket earlier.
The Dog head mod is an alternative starter relay, the original has a plug/socket which is the same shape/ configuration as pictured in the diagram. The relay is a rectangular box stamped from sheet metal. The Dog head relay is cylindrical metal. The relay "converts" the 12 volt ignition...
Yes, the back battery can be used IF you remember to isolate the negative and properly fuse both negative and positive.
By using the 12 volt key switched positive as the negative for such a system, any additional load reduces current going through the ignition switch.
This is how I have my 12...
Carburetored cars can see slight improvement with a cold air intake, once properly warmed up. Most electronic fuel injected cars came with factory cold air intakes, aftermarket kits are just a way of liberating money from wallets.
CUCV came without any ducting as the dual alternators and...
I had to look over the internal circuit diagram for the regulator to see what could cause this. The spinning electromagnet initially receives current through the dash trouble light. Once the output voltage is above the battery voltage, current doesn't flow through the generator light on the...
70 volts? I didn't know that was possible with stock rotor. Something is definitely wrong and you know electron wrangling..
70 volts into a battery would boil it in no time, look at the big wire to battery.
The dash light indicates a regulator defect on case negative connected alternators...
Lift pump isn't critical, transfer pump in the IP can draw 18 inches of mercury. Crack the filter air release valve on top of filter while cranking to test.
Easiest test of the most likely culprit would be the ETR solenoid in the IP. Key on, disconnect the pink wire at the IP and listen for a...
I forget the size. I measured the circumference of the oval snorkle to determine equivalent round diameter.
There is no snow or mist trap other than the spiral corrugations. Disconnect if traveling through heavy precipitation as the air filter can collapse if it gets wet...
I found Gates heater duct that fits over the snorkle. Secures with a hose clamp, then I made a metal adapter for the core support knock out. Helps with noise.
That is not the TM, that is a GM shop manual, it has CUCV info listed under the D truck series, that is the GM term for the CUCV. Completely different from civy series.
TMs start with TM. Specifically, TM 9-2320-289-nn. The level of the manual, nn, is who it is written for and what it...
The original heater cores tend to fail on the solder joints. Repair takes a jig to resolder, once all the dirt is removed as there are multiple pieces laminated to make the core.
Aluminum cores work when installed correctly. They don't fill the core box completely and air can bypass when...
GM manual which has been converted to a PDF, I found it under file name GM_STG_16015_05_1C_1987_The_6.2_Liter_Diesel_Engine.pdf
Good manual which includes CUCV info as the D truck series.
Unit numbers are always on the bumpers. While there could have been placed on the 1009 back windows, this is non standard. Probably prior owners air soft group
